Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
Yea, ROM has not effect as Makk has pointed out.
That's why you can't really "revert" to WinMo, you have to soft-reset to get back into WinMo. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
ok guys well i completed my first full night of android. not a single crash or anything.
wifi worked great, data worked after the apn settings. calls worked perfect after the mic trick. text works great. emails from my exchange server worked great. contacts downloaded and everything synced up perfect. keyboard i did have some issues with. the hard kb worked great, no problems. caps and lower case worked without issue. but the onscreen kb i had some problems with. it seems mine is a bit sensitive. sometimes 2 or 3 letters would pop up from me hitting it once. if i was a little sloppy on hitting the letters i would get a few different ones lol. still trying to figure out the system. market worked without a problem, was able to go on and download a game, installed and played without issue. i did have an issue on voice (mind you i am not signed up for gvoice so i'm not sure if thats my issue lol). when i click on voice, i get the welcome to google voice screen, click on next, select my gmail acct, tap sign in, and after a second it goes to set up google voice. i tap on next and it asks me to setup a pin. i enter a 4 digit pin but i can not tap on next. the next box is grayed out. i'm going to keep playing with it, last night when i was trying i just got an android.error.something and had to force close it everytime. this morning seems to be different. ok tried again and it seems to have taken. i was able to tap next and now it is verifying my number. a message then popped up letting me know it couldn't verify my number. does anyone have any invites to gvoice available? i'm going to play with this all day and see how it all goes. battery does suck, died in about 4 or 5 hours lastnight. the battery doesn't notify you (as you all know) when it is dying so once it died, it was well dead. at this point, it's good enough for me to run full time. now how do we make a full rom of this? and on a side note, has anyone tried this with one of the extended batteries? i didn't think of it last night but my g/f has a 2400mah battery for her diamond. i threw it in my phone and the battery doesn't charge or tell me when is available. tonight i'm going to throw it in with andriod and see if it does anything different. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
Uhm if you don't have a google voice account... you can't use google voice.
A full ROM will come, but there's still a lot of issues (such as battery life, having to initiate a call/3d app before launching haret... no GPS/camera/BT...) Charging needs a status fix, and the values they're getting are not accurate. The numbers jump around a lot. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
oh ya they do. one second i'm charging at 33% and the next it's at 78% then to 22% lol
but honestly if we could build a rom at this point with the 3d/call fixed i would love to run it despite the no gps/bluetooth/camera issue. this thing is way faster than my winmo and actually seems more stable lol. now thats funny. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
I agree, it is better than WinMo in a lot of ways...
But, I don't think we're at the stage of a ROM yet. I think I can live without BT/GPS/Camera, but I can't live with the battery how it is, and the make a call first is a real deal-breaker for an actual ROM. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)
lol see i can live with the battery honestly. i have usb chargers everywhere. i don't think i can live without the battery reporting though. hopefully when i get home and get to play with the womans battery it'll do something different that i can report back with.
and ya the acll first is a deal breaker but i can only imagine it's a short time before we fix that. we're about due for a new update lol. it's been like 3 days since the last. i think i'm going to send some love to mak for his work. |
