You need to add an APN, open settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names and add one with
Name - Android
APN - internet

as far as I know this is only needed in the last two (2/4 and 2/8) updates.

Thanks for the tip! This is my first time using Android on my Touch Pro and this trick got my Data to work. ^_^

As for Wifi... I can't get it to work on the 2-8 release..... =(

Anyway, I'm impressed with how far the development has gotten!!!! Thank you developers!!!! =D

The new version with hardware acceleration is running great! Only new issue I have found is wifi seems to be completely disabled in this release. The phone explicitly says in the wireless menu that it is unable to start wifi. Hardware acceleration makes a big difference in the smoothness and feel!

I have tried that and still not working for me either. It shows the 3G icon and the up arrow changes back and forth from gray to white, and it doesn't go to the wireless settings page when I try to do something. However, it sits there for a bit then says that there is no connection. I reformatted, used the all-in-one setup files, used the 3D carousel view in Mobile Shell, ran the voicemail program from the Wave and loaded into Android fine. Mic works, data and wireless don't. When I try to start wireless, it says unable to turn on. I have tried launching it in WinMo first, but that didn't change anything. Any ideas?

A few versions back i had some data issues that i was able to resolve... i don't know if all the steps i took were necessary.... i think maybe the last couple of steps weren't needed as 3G is a few seconds slow to start working after you boot into android and thats something I didn't know at the time. Anyway, eventualy i got it to work - i've documented my steps here - maybe it will help...

My problem is that I can't edit or enter information in the APN screen. Is totally black without any field to enter information.

Right now I have the last 2/8 installed wihout editing or replace any file.

Thanks

i never had any issues with data. just fire up browser and a minute later 3g pops up.

To add an APN you have to hit the menu button, it's the one with the house on it.

Has anyone gotten MMS to work? it's definitly not a priority but if it's an app i can install that would be great.
Also no matter what I'm doing I can't get 3d working. I've tried touchflo3d running and then the hologram. but I still just get the black screen on boot. no nexus one animation. Anyone else getting that?
