Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - ALPHA (buggy. as. hell.)

I can't seem to get data or Wi-Fi in the 08.02 build. Anyone else have any luck?

you'll probably have to soft reset like 2-3 times before it'll come on..

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Hello,

I have a RAPH300 (t-mobile brand). And I'm having trouble with starting the new build. I know this forum is for RAPH800 but I downloaded here a rootfs.img file some time ago that was working with calibration. The error i'm getting is the following: Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl.This function should no longer be used.
Maybe someone can help?

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

New full package added to the first post. Trying something a little different this time. To remove some of the guesswork, I'm packaging everything together. One stop shopping. Hopefully that'll be easier. If people want just the kernel, ask, and I'll post it back up.

This new version has working hardware 3d acceleration -- but it only works if you already have 3d running in WinMo when you boot Android. If you run TouchFlo 3D you should be fine. If not, you can grab the Diamond Hologram program from xda-developers or something else that initializes the 3d hardware, run it, and then start android.

If you DON'T do that, you'll notice that the nexus one boot animation is gone. Don't worry, it hasn't crashed, and the black screen will give way to your normal home screen.

If you do have the 3d hardware initialized, you should see the boot animation (though it might look sort of slow and choppy). Then, once you're booted, you can try downloading neocore from the market to test it out. I got 18.8fps.

Another note -- anyone who was having a problem with market downloads hanging at 'Starting Download'... that was not a device problem, that was a general market outage. It was happening to people who have 'real' Android phones, too.

I know there have been a number of people talking about that error over on xda-developers. I don't think anyone has seen that specific bug on the RAPH800 -- at least, I've not heard of anyone. I know it's been mentioned to the devs, but I don't know much about it.

Not sure if you are or not, but with a RAPH300, I think you should be using the mainline kernel from glemsom's site, or the kernel bundled with the xdandroid package. That's more likely to work for you than anything I'm building.

I'm using the one you are mentioning. But then i get that specific error. The one i downloaded here last week. (in the first post here you mention that you have removed that file). is working with the newest package and modules. I can play 3d labyrint but it is very slow. So i don't think I have the newest updates in rootfs. Do you know what was different from the rootsfs you posted and the new packages?

Does this one have working CDMA Data? The Wave says working in the Working/Semi-Working/Broke section but still says it doesn't work in the Files section. Sorry if it is self-explanatory for others, I'm still confused by all the different files, terms, etc...But if everything was in one package I was going to give it a try, since I wouldn't be forgetting a file that way :)

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

heres my issue. After dling the files I copied them to my storage card and ran harat.exe however Linux boots but then my phone freezes for longer then 3hrs. This is what the root of my storage card looks like.
Here is what the root of my storage card looks like
(Folder) .footprints
(F) Android Apps
(F) Applications - my folder of .cab files/etc
(F) Books
(F) conf
(F) DCIM
(F) media
(F) music
(F) Pim Backup
(F) Program files
(F) starup-configs
(F) YouTube
(Icons) calibration
(I) calabiration_diamond
(I) EncFiltLog.menc
(Exectable file) Harat.exe
(I) initrd
(I) modules-2.26....
(I) modules-2.26...
(Text doc) readme.txt
(I)rootfs.img
(T)startup.txt (this is what i renamed the Raph800 file)
(I)system.sqsh
(I)XDANDROID.4.02...
(I)zImage
(I)zImage-2009...
(I)zimage-modules-200
(I)zimage-RAPH800

*edit* ok now this may be an entirely different beast (maybe for another thread somewhere) but I redownloaded XDAndroid and saved the file to the root of my stoarge card. When I go to explore my storage card the icon for XDANDROID is an icon file (meaning its a small white square with the Windows icon in the center which obviously I cannot run) This icon also appears when I try to transfer that very same file from my desktop to my phone.

Oh followed all the instructions and it's booting like ms dos or something is it supposed to take a long time to boot the first run?

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I just tried it on mine and it took a while to start the first boot, if you look close it says something like every 33 mounts or 120 days or something like that, it will check the file system or something. Now, off to investigate why wireless isn't working...
