So then what's the point of labeling the forum "ROMs/Kitchens/Radios Only"?

Not to mention, this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=78089

I thought this forum was for that stuff only, so it wouldn't become cluttered with all of the problem and question threads about the ROMs/Kitchen/Radios, thus making every real release ROMs/Kitchen/Radios thread easier to find

Re: Too many roms!

I would just like to express my gratitude to those posting roms, and spending endless hours doing what i don't myself have the time to do. Also as I have flashed my TP2 six times since unlocked last week, I must say some more stringent testing prior to release would be nice as the functionality on most these roms is less than up to par. Other than that keep up the nice work and hopefully soon I will be able to free up some time and give back to the community.

Thank all y'all...

Re: Too many roms!

Jah. I remember back in the day when it was as easy as No2Chem or DCD, now there's like 30 different roms 3/4 of which are the same except for different start up graphics, wallpapers, icons, and taskbars.

I remember back in those days chefs would actually go hard and develop things for their roms and use some kind of programming skills to get the best speed/stability. Half of these dudes just slap together something in a kitchen, maybe up the page pool and think they have rom deserving of being shared with the world.

My suggestion to anyone who is planning on making their own roms is try to bring something new/substantial to the table, if you have no kind of programming skills and just plan on slapping something together in a kitchen maybe re-think your decision to clear up some of the clutter. This is the EXACT reason I don't make Roms.

Re: Too many roms!

Just like i complained about b 4

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...94#post1262994

Too much crap on here (watch me get an infraction for the word crap) and watch all the geeks complain like a bunch of babies. your roms are CRAP - all the same, why not get creative. Go read a book or check out the big blue thing outside (yes the sky)

exceptions are Mighty and Juicy, they are the only ones who actually put time and effort into their work and are worthy of being called custom roms

Re: Too many roms!

My $0.02 on this is not the number of ROMs, but how one must wade through so many posts in each thread to figure out what the heck is working, and is/is not included. It would be wonderful to have a consistent "features" table in the 1st or second post of each ROM thread designating things such as "optimized for carrier x", manila version (2.5, doesn't support landscape, etc, so new "shoppers" can better understand what they're flashing), tweaks included, push internet & so forth.

I know this may be asking a bit much from the developers, but it would help to better organize the options, from my point of view.

I agree with the need for a summary. There are many changes taking place quickly and one rom will leapfrog over another with a new revision. Just an overall summary post, with release date, os, features and credit to kitchens would be nice. Weekly updates from the cooks??

Re: Too many roms!

i agree with some of your points dishe. some of the rom threads are moving VERY quickly and sometimes it can be hard to keep up. there are really only like 15 or so rom right now and thats really not a lot. check out the tp1 forum or the rhodium forum on xda, now thats what you call too many roms! it seems like your issue is not as much with the amount of roms but rather the useless banter ('BEST ROM EVER..." etc) that goes on in the threads making them more difficult to find real info. is that correct?

What really annoys the hell out of me is all the useless posts in every ROM thread.

I had flashed Juicy's R2 yesterday morning & had one single problem I wanted to get opinions on. The problem was, right about then Juicy announced that R3 was available so instead of getting a respomse to my question there where about 14 pages of post from morons that say absolutely nothing more than "this is cool, I'm downloading now!!"

Then the next three pages of posts say "yea, me too".........

When I went back to see if anybody had answered my question (nobody had) it was buried 10 pages back behind cr@p like this........
