i think 3g is limited to 5gb, and 4g is unlimited per sprints page. at least i read that somewhere. maybe on their coverage map?

Really the carriers are to blame. The infrastructure couldn't handle the data boom with smart phones as of late. They should all **** themselves with that "unlimited data" crap. Unlimited means unlimited. It shouldn't be, well we'll sell you on unlimited until we decide that you use too much then charge you extra anyway. ****'em

Re: ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ [WARNING] - Tethering Users ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢

Hi all,

I have a few questions...

I am unable to see my bill since I have a company phone. So really I have no clue if I have been ever charged...

I have NEVER used usb2pc - only wi-fi router found over on xda...

I have downloaded both the ICS & WModem Fix and the Hotfix in this thread - I have not installed either but was comparing them to my phone's stock settings. Hoping someone can answer some questions for me.

I am on VzW, WM6.5 Stock.

First the Hotfix - The instructions on this post say to verify the file size changes after install.

I do NOT have a IntShr.exe in my windows directory!!! I only have IntShrUI.exe (which is listed at 21.9 kb in TC).

Is this the file I should be comparing the hotfix to ???

Thanks in advance!
Ryan

I also am on a stock 6.5 Verizon install and would like to be sure of the fix. (I am also on a company phone, but since I am the company...)

Question, if you have a company phone and don't get a bill...why do you care if you get charged for tethering?

Re: ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ [WARNING] - Tethering Users ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢ ☢

Holy Cr*p this freaked me out, seeing that I have been using between 17-22 GB a month for the past 6-7 months with Sprint. They have never billed me extra (I'm on the simply everything plan) never once said anything.

One thing to note though is that I check everyday what my usage is and if any extra charges are being applied. Also noted that depending on where it said my location was (proxy server perhaps), jumped between L.A. and Wichita and that my usage would either rise during that internet session or just stay the same.

Now I do netflix instant view alot so it adds even more GB than is what's being reported by Sprint, but again, never been charged extra so far.

I use the typical .cabs found for ICS and have been for some time with no problem, running either Mighty Rom, Silencece Rom, or Energy Rom. But I mostly been using the wi-fi router router from HTC with Sprint as my connection (no regedits) and have been fine.

yes I do see that this looks like a Telus problem and Sprint users are immune (so far) from it but just wanted to add my usage input in too...
