Re: Anyone else losing faith?

Makes sense now. Each user gets 1 license to unlock there device which can be used multiple times. You can even get a few if you really need by contacting them as long as your not a business. IF you are thats were they start charging if you need to unlock tons of devices...

Correct, assuming they continue to do it the same as the others.....

And now there's something else...a licensing server!? There's only one reason I can think of why they need one...they're going to charge money for the HSPL. Can anyone shed some light on why they will be issuing licenses for it?
Licensing server? What the hell is that all about? I hope there's nothing to this. I'm no lawyer, but this sounds highly illegal to me, and in the area that MS loves to pounce on people who do it. . Up till now HTC, MS, and carriers have been somewhat tolerant of unlocking and ROM flashing....somewhat. IF someone was to start charging a fee to provide an unlocker you can bet the legal types from HTC, MS, and so on will be all over them in the blink of an eye, then there goes all the ROM flashing. Wow, this would be a humongous screw up. The people doing it would be sued like crazy. This is in no way anything like unlocking a phone to use on another network. This making money off people such Microsoft who really dislike people stealing there software or providing and avenue to do it.

Its been said only need to pay if your a business and personal use free which I dont have an issue with. As far as MS or HTC why would they care? hspl has nothing to do with MS it just allows you to flash your own rom.

It has everything to do with Microsoft, because it provides a path to use unauthorized software. don't think this is a laughing matter, that Microsoft don't care. Just look to xda-developers, they have been shutdown and told to remove material more then once. Believe me, licensing unlocking software will bring the best of Microsoft and HTC's lawyer out.

.....BAD IDEA......

I'll gladly donate till the cows come home, but licensing is a big f*** UP waiting to happen.

Re: Anyone else losing faith?

Does anyone know if cmonex has a job on the weekends or will she be able to spend the day working on getting this out because, just spending nights trying to do this doesn't seem to be paying off.....Hopefully a full day of work can prove to be successful!
