Another analogy would be finding something for $100 at Walmart, and then finding an ID on the ground for Sams Club, gaining access by using that card & getting the product $15 cheaper.

Now based on your example you would have taken the price tag off another device that was for "employees only" and placed that tag on your item to get the lower price. It's not your fault they had something on the shelf marked "employees only" They should have kept it locked up, right? It's not your fault you stole.

Regardless of your credentials, it is considered fraud. While Sprint may rework the scripting simply because litigation is financial irresponsible for them to pursue, it does not mean the actions you are taking by exploiting the system are legal or morally right.

Electronic Fraud: The use of a computer to take or alter data, or to gain unlawful use of computers or services.

Fraud:
  • intentional deception resulting in injury to another person or entity
  • imposter: a person who makes deceitful pretenses
  • something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage

your reasoning is baffling. I think this is incredibly simple and I think you are on the wrong side of the argument here. I think there may be a moral issue ( not morale) that is bothering you and that is understandeable. A person sees a mistake made by another person/company and uses it to his or her advantage. Ok. If you wanted to preach morals , join the ministry. I cannot fault you on that issue but to argue like you have is silly. Sprint posted a publicly accessible weblink offering a phone for a discounted price. At no point in the screening/checkout process did it ask if you are an employee, ask for an employee email address, ask for an employee id , or anything else related. Therefore, Sprint did nothing to verify or screen buyers of the phone at this price, period. It would have taken a good software engineer or web developer about two minutes to incorporate a simple screening or preauthorization question to filter buyers. It is incumbent on Sprint to do this when this was public. You may have a moral issue with this, but there was no need to take it to the level you say. I wonder have you ever been given too much change back at a store after buying something, gotten home before you realized it ? Did you bother going back to the store after you were already home?? Doubt it,,,maybe when I am at the counter but not after getting home. Cmon, get outta the glass house .

Re: Sprint dropped price of Touch Pro 2 to $199

Well as soon as they learned about it they put a password on it. So I guess they did care. The most likely explaination is the development team did not feel the need to add additional security (their error). That still doesn't mean it's right to exploit it. They probably figured someone else would catch it along the way & verify that the person was an actual employee, not someone looking to exploit the site.

Perhaps the first tip you were doing something wrong is the banner that said

"Welcome to the Apple Employee Sprint Store"
"Introducing a special discount store for Apple Employees"

I am not sorry if I limited you to posting your links in emails & PM's. That is where they belong, not on the forums. This site is about devices, not exploiting websites to get a better price.

I love this site just as much as everyone else. I want it to remain steadfast to it's purpose, insuring everyone has the best mobile experience possible.

If this is such a problem for you, take it up with the mods or the owner. You are doing nothing but alienating yourself.

If the mods have an issue they will shut it down and or delete threads.

I know you are desperately auditioning to become a mod, but try being a little less condescending.

Re: Sprint dropped price of Touch Pro 2 to $199

I can handle the alienation. it's not a concern for me. If a person is afraid to speak up for fear of being alienated, well then they aren't much of a person.

Me a mod? No thanks. Don't need the headache & you can quote me on that. They do a great job on this site & have plenty of people far more qualified (and interested) than I would ever be. (But I am glad to know you have my back if I ever "audition" for a position.. How do you audition for that anyways? Do I need to sing?)

I think your rep number (420 at time I post this) explains a lotI think the mods here would frown on posting pirated , hacked software, etc. But seriously doubt they care about the Carrier's own inabilities to moderate their own webpages . I bet you have never used a cooked rom from here either huh? I wonder if Vegas would give me my money back because I didn't understand table rules but sat and played anyway...hmm also, the citigroup site didnt say welcome citigroup employeees ( correction: guess I was mistaken on that one,,,oooops..)..whew,,,,i guess that makes anyone who visited that public link guilty of exploitation......

You mean this website?

As far as my rep? That is based on what others thought of posts I made. It has no bearing on anything in this thread.

Damn that was a close one good thing I didn't wait HAHA hell yeah got my touch pro 2 today. I guess everybody has morals and whats right and whats wrong but I've had 5 replacements for a pos touch pro that had design flaws from the get go "i.e overheating, Keyboard just went out, screen stopped working" I work hard for my money and everytime one of those issues came I would go to the sprint store and they would ask me if I had insurance I would say yes and have to file a claim to get it fixed oh yeah and also pay them OVER 450.00 for replacements phones over time. I called sprint they wouldn't do a damn time thing except to charge me 349.00 for a new phone yeah right. So Kris510 & dbldwn02 thank you so much for starting this thread and providing the links because I now have a 199.00 htc touch pro 2.
