Not to get off topic here but do you ever find yourself bumping that button and killing the screen in the middle of typing. I probably do that at least once a day!

Check out that post. It will have the solution you need to disable the power button while the keyboard is slid out.

For some reason this regedit has started to act up. It still does its juob of not waking the phone if the kwyboard is slid out, but ONLY WHEN THE SCREEN IS UNLOCKED. If i use the default screen locker, the phone ignores the regedit and will wake/unlock via kb and case magnet. This was never an issue when the edit first applied. The only things that have changed since are the installation of weatherbug and windows marketplace. I tried uninstalling both but the quirk is still there. Needless to say I have gone back to the Mogul case because of this. Some of you might say, just leave it unlocked, but my phone has a tendency to self wake and with the screen unlocked it ends up pocket dialing people or going into various different menus from normal moving around. If someone has a solution or suggestion please don't hesitate to chime in. Thanks in advance.

Same problem here, on VZW tp2.

Have you ever gotten it to work properly, or was it screwed up for you from the get go? I have the Sprint TP2 and it worked flawlessly up until today.

I discovered a temporary fix, but I'm not 100% happy with it. If you enable the PIN password for your screen lock, it will allow the regedit to function properly again. This sucks though, as now every time you have to enter your PIN just to get into the phone (does not require PIN to answer calls though, at least not on SPRINT). Also, being able to see a txt/email as soon as it is received is no longer an option. You won't have the little bubble with the message contents pop up anymore. You have to unlock with PIN and manually go to your msgs tab to read texts. Another big bother is, when you're done talking and you pull the phone away from your face (wake it from dark screen) it automatically jumps you back to the home screen and not the keypad/end call/caller id screen.

Maybe this weekend when I have the time, I'll hard reset and do the regedit first, and test it each and every time I change anything on the phone to possibly find the culprit that screwed it up. In the meantime, the temp fix is there for anyone with the same issue.

Yep, went thru the same phase. Used it on my Mogul, TP, and now TP2 (sadly). Never liked the velcro TP case because it trapped lint and pet hair so easily. Got to the point where the flap might as well have been non existent. Bought the HTC branded leather case at BB, and although it's of great quality, the above issue makes it a PITA to use. The temp fix I posted got too annoying and I too have reverted back to the Mogul case. Definitely got my money's worth outta this 4 yr old holster lol.

Same here , I feel like it has been one thing after another with trying to get this damn thing to stay asleep when holstered ;(

I use a hands- free kit at work all day everyday and I want this device to stay sleeping until I remove it from the case , no exceptions. This is one area where BlackBerry pwns.

I just wanted to say that I am having the exact same problem. I own the same HTC case, and was using the stock screen lock, and needless to say have been making several accidental calls lately. I can replicate the issue perfectly with the device locked (screen off), and holding the phone (keyboard side) up to the magnets of this case. It comes on and unlocks every time. Very frustrating.

Now I have to either 1) buy a new case, 2) use a new lock program or 3) just not lock the device.

It is the auto on when sliding the keyboard open. Just disable it from doing it and you wil be fine. Here is the registry edit you need.

HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\Keybd
"SlideWakeup"="0"
