Re: Case magnet killing battery...
The TP2 uses a magnet to detect if the keyboard is slid out. Also when the keyboard is slid out the device wakens. So to sum it up a magnet will wake your device like the ones used in pouches.
The solution is to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DeviceMap\Keybd] Create new dword "SlideWakeup" with value of 0 and soft reset. This will stop the magnet from waking your phone up. |

Re: Case magnet killing battery...
You'll need a registry editor program. Most everyone likes PHM.

Re: Case magnet killing battery...
If I slide my phone in with the screen outwards the magnet turns my device on. However if I slide it in the opposite way, screen in, it does not. This trick apparently does not work with all cases with a magnetic enclosure. Worth a try.

Re: Case magnet killing battery...
Guys its a simple 5 second reg edit. Then there are no worries about your screen flipping on and off throughout the day killing your battery.
I guess some people play it safe and some like to live on the edge ![]() |

+1 Nice!
Not to get off topic here but do you ever find yourself bumping that button and killing the screen in the middle of typing. I probably do that at least once a day! ![]() |

Re: Case magnet killing battery...
Well you have to be able to wake up your phone. If you disable the keyboard/magnet wake up and the top button, how would you wake up your phone? I suppose you could remap the wake up to one of the bottom 4 buttons.
I rarely hit the top button accidentally but I wish the button was more recessed like my TP1. To me the keyboard wake up disabled is a must. Using a magnetic holster case and also just walking around with the phone in your hand. A very slight keyboard movement will wake up your phone and lets be honest with lots of use things get loose. |
