Re: Case magnet killing battery...

I also have the HTC branded leather case and with this registry change it works very well. I did not have this problem with my Palm branded leather case and frankly did not expect to have it with the HTC case. However, 4 days ago I noticed that it was on in the case and after that I just started physically turning it off after putting it in the case. This change is really good.

Re: Case magnet killing battery...

I have a super strong neo magnet. It can pick up objects through a 1" thick desk with ease. I can move it right up against my TP2 without it turning it on. There is no cell phone case in the world that has a stronger magnet than the one I am using.

Urban legend at best.

You apparently missed the above video. I have a magnetic case and it does occasionally happen to me, but I always put it in screen to hip so it's rarely an issue for me.

Re: Case magnet killing battery...

I have a case magnet. It's been fine for me thus far. I've tested since readin' this thread and there has been no significant battery drain aside from my normal usage. I even kept it in the holster overnight to see and my batter surprisingly kept a great charge.

(*In most cases.*) And he was saying how this somehow, waken as the device inside the pouch, which drains the battery without you knowing. I know some of you feel that the battery sucks enough, but do any of you who use the magnet pouches, think this can be a cause of your battery draining faster?
The magnet can play a role in the battery but not because it wakes up, My Tp2 Wakes up randomly even if is not in the pouch.... overnight my Tp2 will loose about 10-15% of battery life.. I will now leave the phone outside the pouch to see if it makes a difference...

Yeah, I've been told that these devices wake up on there own, but like Cleveland mentioned, that's something different that can be a cause also. The video in this thread shows that the magnet can wake up the phone inside (*certain cases*), so this has become a proven fact.

LMAO @ goober. Even with the entry/exit, I've still not seen any battery drain. I guess I got lucky ... goober ...
