Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

My 20 day old Sprint TP2 is doing this same thing but smaller. It's about 1.5" tall and 1/4" wide right down the middle of the screen. I noticed it on a day the phone got extremely hot. I was listening to online radio and charging it at the same time and for some reason, made it get really hot. I thought about exchanging it but they said I'd have to reapply for my mail in rebate since this phone won't have been active for 30 days. Might go try once I hit my 30 days.

id replace it within the 30d and reapply for the rebate. its nib for a 30d exchange its refurb for post 30d.

Really upset right now. Just noticed the same thing on my TP2 - on a much smaller scale. Might hit up the Sprint Repair Store before it gets worse.

Same thing was SUCH an issue with me with the original TP. Had to replace 4 of those, looks like this will be going down the same path =/

is this a magnetic problem? is it possible people are placing their phones to close to speakers and such?

This same thing happened to 2 of my TP's, currently including the one I have now that is going to be replaced. (It's being replaced for other reasons however). But I did bring it up at my last repair and they made note of it in my account (so that if it got worse it wouldn't be considered physical damage). A tech himself told me that it's a pressure issue and it's actually being caused by the magnetic part of the hip holster for most TP's.
Best advice: when you have time, swing by a Sprint store and if nothing else, have them notate it in your account. This may seem unnecessary to most people (myself included) but I don't and wouldn't take chances on Sprint blaming it on me.

I'm not sure myself. I unlocked my phone and put a custom ROM with the 1.96.00WU radio in it... and I notice it getting hotter than with the stock rom.

The original TP was always hot - and that phone always had this issue...

The TP1 that I just had replaced (got it replaced on the last day of my 1yr warranty )...had the rainbow on the screen. Didnt know what to call it at the time...I thought it was just something I did. Happend to look at it one day and there it was...looked like I had something on my hands and touched it accidentally. Anyway...got another TP1...about to send it back again because the thing keeps overheating. I wonder how many times they have to replace it before you get a TP2?

Wow, man. Every TP1. I was lucky, i never had that issue.

i had the same thing on my first touch pro 2 but then the touch screen stoped working! so far i havent seen it on my current device!
