Re: Insurance or not????

I'll keep insurance on it for the first several months. After that, I'll drop the insurance because I won't be too far off from having it for a year. If something happens to it after a year, I'll just sign a new two year contract and get whatever latest and greatest phone is out. If something happens to it in the months in between, I'll just activate an old phone for awhile.

Re: Insurance or not????

Bottom line, very foolish not to get insurance. If you don't, then do not complain when you break your phone and have to pay full price for the new one. Simple as that. Keep in mind that the insurance also waives any reactivation fees for replacements as well as the ability for techs in the store to work on your phone without hassles. If you have insurance the store sees this on your account and will make efforts to repair for free. Without it they diagnose and quote you a price to fix. I know from experience, I always have insurance on high priced items.

Just contact your Home insurance company ask the cost of insuring your Devices what ever they are they will add a rider to your present policy very simple and easy some auto insurance will do the same.

Hope this helps

Re: Insurance or not????

I can't believe so many people don't have insurance. Just imagine if you lost your tp2 today, or someone stole it, or you leave it on your car, or it drops in the toilet when you look at the screen cause an important call is coming in. You would pay $599 for another tp2 right now?

Re: Insurance or not????

I think insurance is a colossal waste of money myself, but then again I have had PPC's all the way back to the early 6700's & have never needed to make a claim anyway so I am WAY ahead money wise............

I've made mulitple claims and sometimes i find my phone afterwards and then i sell them for $200 +. especially since they use to be only $50 replacements up until a couple of months ago. I am way ahead also Also the peace of mind. I honestly don't really care about my phone and throw it around. I don't use a case and am real lazy with it, insurance helps me keep the peace of mind knowing i'll always get one, plus that insurance often gets people free upgrades. do you know how many people went from a mogul to the tp1 because of insurance?

Re: Insurance or not????

I canceled the insurance on my two TP2's...

Had it before and never used it, still have the old TP and it works fine should the need arise to use it - and there is always something better around the corner...

Although... I kind of like the first few months argument, and may add the insurance for the next few months.

Re: Insurance or not????

Absolutely. look at it this way

6$ a month over a 2 year contract

6x24 = $144

89$ deductible.

vurses a 600$ retail price.

Even if you had your device lost/stolen/broken THRICE it's a steal

Not to mention you always get it new, thats what insurance means. if you get it refurbished, complain and ensure you are given new and make sure. they ALWAYS do not reset your contracts
