Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Oh. Thats the water down version? Dang, I didnt know.

I found the real tutorial. There are more more work involved.

I have never seen anything this complex before. TT7 and Garmin was easy.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I got it working.

There is alot more work to be done like adding alot of other things are 3D stuff, etc etc

I would say the op post #1 would be supplement to get it working on the TP2.

Pay attention to what is suppose to be ZIP and not ZIP.

Yah, have lots of time on your hand and have a clear mind.

I cant get the sound on post #1 to work. I copy the 4 dll files and the log file to the igo8 root and copy the 2 zip voice files to the \voice folder.

However the voice work on other zip files that I didnt get from here.

Any clues?

Is that "tts_loq" or "tts_log" ? I try both and still no sound for these 2 files.

TTS voice will only work if you have enough memory to run on.

I think I read about 120MB of free memory.

Mine comes and goes, so I just went w/ non tts voice.

I think from what I read it needs alot of memory for those 2 voice files on post #1.

I do not know why.

So I give up and use one of the standard voice.

Whats tts? It can say street name?

Yes. Instead of voices saying turns coming up, TTS would say make right on xxx street etc.

Same problem here. My contacts do not get imported for some reason. This is a very important feature for me. Often I'll look up a location on Google Maps/Bing and then I'll save it to my contacts rather than having to memorize the address and typing it into iGO.
