Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
I have just had occasion to test iGO8 in a situation where I needed a GPS. As a test I used it along side my stand alone Garmin 265w. I was very impressed. The Garmin lagged by a second or two behind the iGO8. iGO's routing, directions, etc. were all as good or better than the Garmin's.
If 2 things could be fixed iGO8 would be perfect: 1) I need to shut down Manilla and reboot to get TTS to work (6.5 custom Rom with Sense 2.1 creating from Calkulin's Kitchen -- very basic, lots of free memory). When I used Sprint's stock Rom I had iGO8 TTS working even with Manilla running, but haven't with any 6.5 Rom I've tried. 2) If it would read and import the contacts; I've never found a way for this to work on the TP2. |

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
I have seen many requests on this thread for contact import. Is this actually a feature of this software or just a "wish"? Is the intended purpose to create custom POI's or is there some other benefit? If this is actually a function in the software, can you then call the contact while using the GPS function? What other benefits are there in this capability?
FYI.. TTS is working perfectly for me thanx to this thread. I have TF3D turned off. Instead, I use Winterface as my UI. Everything is stock.

Here's what's working for me: - I'm running MightyRom Impact. With TFDetacher installed I NEVER boot to Manila, but it allows me to toggle back and forth between the two interfaces. TFDetacher loads Titanium at boot-up with 104MB free ram. TTS voices work perfectly! -- Even with Outlook mail running in background, I'm still @ 97MB, plenty to run TTS voices. --- Running Outlook mail PLUS Opera puts me @ 84MB, which is too low for TTS to work. Running the iGo.mscr script posted earlier in the thread, with CleanRam @ Level 3 bumps me back to 94MB and TTS works again. If you use TFDetacher AND run the iGo.mscr script listed earlier in this thread, you MUST edit the script to NOT restart Manilla after closing iGo8. TFDetacher automatically starts "Windows Default" aka "Titanium" as default. It will not work if the script re-enables Manila. AGAIN, "Windows Default" must stay the Today/Home choice. You can always toggle back to Manila with the soft button you setup in TFDetacher. I hope this helps someone. Please hit "Thanks" if it does. |

Well ive been working on this for a while but I still cant get TTS to work on Mightyrom. I have over 105MB free on boot but I know i dont need that much for TTS to work on the stock 6.1 Are their any programs or settings that are known for breaking tts other then the Marketplace?
