Re: Camera Settings
lowering the sharpness did help a bit.... the pictures do look 'soft' but it's better than when then look like crappy webcam photos. I also do NOT rely on the Auto setting for ISO. It seems to give way to much noise in bright light, while not compensating enough in low light and giving a very blurry shot. When I manually set the ISO I get much less noise in daylight (always 100 or 200 ISO), and can actually get a decent shot in dim lighting (800 ISO, lots of image noise but usually no blur from an unsteady hand).
Still not very good, but passable and useable in a pinch which is I guess all we can expect.... |

Re: Camera Settings
i'm one more for for the touch pro 1. i use my phone to take pictures of documents and convert them to PDF for faxing...and i'm having a heck of a time with the tp2 whereas i had no issues with my tp1.
disappointing, but maybe some good cooks can bake us some better settings and fix it. if i remember right, my AT&T Tilt was very bad before flashing, but then took decent pictures after. In fact i remember for sure my T-Mobile MDA took WAY better pictures after new settings were released, they were 100% unusable prior to the new settings. But it is sad that i have pictures i've been comparing to my OLD Sony Clie and they were still better than any pictues i've taken from a similar device since. and that was like 2001!

Re: Camera Settings
As most of you should realize, the quality of the shot depends on lighting, hand movement and a few other things. So, where you can get a very good shot of a pic with either the TP1 or 2, you can also get bad quality with both. It is the same hardware, so just keep that in mind.

Re: Camera Settings
I had mentioned earlier and will again.
In my opinion, everyone is experiencing the effects of taking an image of equal quality and displaying it over a higher resolution, more dots per inch. If you look at a small window of video on your desktop PC and then make it full screen, you will see degradation, except in Hi Def video situations. So, the pixel count on our screen has increased, yet the pixel count of the image has remained the same as it was on our TP1's. Which image below appears to be the clearest? ![]() I haven't tried this, yet I'm willing to bet if you took a picture with your TP2 and resized it properly to the resolution of a TP1 photo, ithey would be equal!

I sure must have missed where this is located. Also, it is not possible for them to have been taken at the same size, they aren't. However the TP2 image could be resized on the pc to match the size of the TP1 image. If this has been demonstrated by anyone, please point me to it. |

Well, I meant at the same resolution, since they both are 3.2MP cameras. |
