Re: Camera Settings
I also am in agreement that the pic quality is not quite the same as the TP1 was. I was quite happy with the TP1 pic quality as far as a pda type phone goes. I would have thought 3.2 Megapixels on the new TP2 would have meant better pics ESPECIALLY with default settings. I do not want to have to go back and do editing on pics I take with a phone, nor should you have to just to get the quality . I have noticed that the pics it takes have a lighter colored/whiteness to the top portion of the image as can be noticed in the pics jimmiekain posted (post setting change) . This seems to be more pronounced in outdoor scenarios, regardless of sun/cloudy/overcast conditions. I wonder if this might actually have more to do with the cover of the phone and how well it filters out glare , etc from the actual lens. I am using this camera in a pinch at work when i am in the field to take pics and compared to my old TP 1 (settings adjusted or not, the quality is definitely not the same. It's not a deal breaker on the phone but considering the price, I would think it would be at least as good as the TP1(Sorry Might Mike, I disagree). I love my TP2 and wouldnt trade it for the TP1 but I also wish they had done a bit more improvement in the camera aspect. Not to mention the lack of a flash for low light..( that part really sucks) .
