Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price

Yea I think there seeing the light, now I have a sero account and was not due to renew till march 2010.. (so in 6 mo)

I had a Touch Pro with the over heating issue.. I really hated this phone

Also I had poor to no coverage at home.. ever call seem to drop... and I work in telcom (for one of Sprint's competitors and also deal with sprint every day on business frame relay service) for business Sprint was just not cutting it

I try to get upgraded to TP2 and to do something about the coverage issue but no go... they sent me a new Touch Pro under TEP but I had not activated it yet..

I try again last weekend to do of deal on the TP2 but no go and had given up (and on Sprint I was gone as soon as I could go...hello Verzion)

Then out of the blue I got a call two day later (Tue) from a Sprint survey group asking if the gave me an extra 150 off the TP 2 (so for 199) would I renew now for 2 years (ok sounds good) ...

Then because my call drop and I had to go to a land line at the house (as per the norm) I had to call back and got a diffrent rep who confirm the 199 offer on a TP2 on my sero account but also because on the dropped calls at the house offer an free sprint airave

So now I have a TP2 for 199, a free sprint airave, a new in the box never activated Touch Pro to sell and my sero account renewed 6 mo early so next renewal is 9/2011

And they called me... so they do give a dam... now if we could just bypass the trip to hell before geting to "give a dam"

Nope, Nope , Nope.... Thats not coo in my book, We dont do that type of stuff in Philly... I dont wanna extend my contract, I only got 4 months left and thats around the time when all the new stuff come out. They crazy for that one but Its noted on my account that if I do get the phone it wont be till next week but right now thats a no go around here.

Ok now here is the thing do you still send in the rebate and try to even save more? i got a great deal when i called and they did a adjustment on my account but if i send in the rebate form are they going to look at my bill and see the adjustment? or just see that i am sending the invoice and send me the rebate?

First off, great topic, and as always, great posts from fellow members. So I thought I'd like to share my experience. I called Sprint and spoke to a very nice lady about upgrading my phone in Nov when my contract expires, but I wasn't happy by the fact that Verizon was offering the same phone for $199. I told her that this was my third tp due to issues and was very polite but blunt that I would not be paying $349 come Nov. She then stayed on the phone with me as she transfered me to a retention rep. The rep looked over my account and said that many people were calling about this. She said Sprint is going to price match Verizon and noted my account. She then told me to make sure when I call back in Nov that I ask for a retention rep because that's where the notes about the price are kept. Thanks once again to you guys, as well as Sprint, for making me a happy camper.

If you want to bypass CS & go straight to retentions, call 877-775-4886. Just act like you were transferred because you wanted to cancel, they wont know you dialed direct.

I just bought my wife a TP2, gonna call back & try to get the price match. If they do it, I may order one for me

I guess I'll share my experience.

For all the ones who are looking for a cheaper price -- it is POSSIBLE, very possible and not impossible. I'm happy I took inquiry for the TP2, because I received it for 199.99, no contract, no extension, but + tax -- I was extremely happy. Not only did I receive it for this price, but I also get 25% off my plan every month now since I've been a customer for a long time(7 years...)

A new phone can develop new pathways for you(:

Snagged the $150 discount on a $30 SERO plan. The retentions rep initially offered a $50 discount on the spot because my plan is already a steal, but I insisted that the phone was overpriced and that I was considering switching to ATT for the $100 iPhone. She put me on hold and talked to the administrators who she said are now price matching the TP2 upon request/cancellation threats.

Apparently worth a try even on a SERO plan.

With a two year agreement I didn't have to ask. After all the discounts it comes to 199.00
