Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price

I called Sprint today and I was nice as I could be. I took some of you guys' advice on here and spoke to 3 different reps (lots of patience)...to make a long story short....

My contract expired last month, so I knew I could get the phone for $350 after the mail in rebate, but i wanted to see if i could get it cheaper. I told the rep i spoke with about the verizon price and she immediately asked me if she discounted it to $199 would i buy it today, i was shocked as to how easy it was, and i said "sure"....well, although I had to pay up front for the phone, she discounted my account $150, waived the activation and waived the next day shipping. (I still get the mail in rebate)

Now, I'm sure i had some leverage considering i was not under contract, but wanted to let you all know just in case you were still shopping for the phone....

While she was applying the credits, we had small talk and she mentioned or 'let it slip' that starting this week, they began matching the verizon price in this way for their loyal customers or for clients in good standing that really want this phone....

Just thought i'd throw it out there...

Whats up 353? Thats is great news...LOL I was on the phone with sprint and a couple of REPs, MGRs, and rententions....All I wanted was for them to match Verizon's price, and they basically told me to "STEP" LOL Now I been with sprint for 10yrs, IM a free agent, and I pay 140 a month for my service. I was tight with them but held my cool..And now they matching verizon's price..Way COOL! Thanks for the Info..

tell them you'll send it back if they dont match it... I didnt have to threaten them, i just mentioned that verizon had it for $199.

I was wondering if anyone would like to pm me their number so I have it as a reference so that you did get it for $199 or a copy of your sales receipt that would be great. I try many times and they just wouldn't budge on the price and keeps telling me verizon plans are more expensive and so forth.

Ok now Im on hold because they arent even charging me what they said they would on my order confirmation it went from 351.35 to 429.99?

If i can get this discount, after i sold my diamond for $150, and after the $250 instant off with 2yr agreement, i will have gotten the TP2 for $50. Not bad at all..
