Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
I called retentions yesterday to get the price match. Was very polite and mentioned both Verizon's price and T-mobile's. They told me that they don't price match.
7 year customer, Sprint premier, out of contract. I guess I'll have to keep trying... He did hint that Bestbuy is supposed to get the phone within the next two weeks and that they might have a better price, but who knows... |

this is a case by case basis. every account is different. what works for some people won't work for others.

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
Sh*t. I bought the thing two weeks ago for the 2 year renewal price of $350 after rebate. I then called back retentions and asked for the price match, but the best I could do was 1 month free service and pick 3 landlines. Now they're price matching Verizon's price? WTF. If I see a lot of people getting the price match then this phone is going straight back.
I was considering swinging my wife over from Verizon too. I'll put that plan on hold until we see how much weight this price match holds. |

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
Hey Transcend. I just got off the phone with Sprint and I got the money off. I originally billed the phone to my account. The full 450 got billed. My Sprint store took off 100 so that I wouldn't have to wait for the rebate. That was last month. Then right now the took off another 150. There you have it...200! I love it! If you talk to account svc's and get the right person it REALLY works. NO LIE. Sprint rules. No one can touch Any Mobile Any Time. Now THAT is how you keep customers!

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
Yea, it's all about keeping your cool and just keep trying until you get the right person on the phone that is willing to listen and negotiate with you....like I said, i had to call 3 different times (3 different times of the day) and the third rep was who offered me the deal...
Also, i haven't sold my TP1 yet, and as soon as I do, i would have gotten the phone for practically nothing... I'm trying to sell it for at least $200... |

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
What exactly did you ask them to do first? Did you ask for them to give you the discount or did you threaten to leave?

Re: Sprint 'MIGHT' match Verizon's $199 Price
I was honest and upfront, I told them that I wanted the TP2 but i didn't want to pay what they were asking for it. I even offered to send my TP1 back and pay the difference, of course they all laughed at that....I reminded them that my contract expired last month and verizon has the same phone for $199...the 1st rep basically laughed at me, so that's why i just kept trying until I got to the 3rd rep who offered me the deal...
I think one of the reasons it was fairly easy for me was because i currently wasn't under contract, so me mentioning verizon hinted that i could leave at any time and the rep knew that...I'm not sure everyone would have the same success story....if you do call, i would recommend speaking to retentions and not telesales! |
