Dial ##778, choose Edit, enter unlock code (000000).
Go to View Info -> Home Sid/Home Nid
Select Home Sid/Nid #1.
Click Menu, Edit.
No Need to change anything.
Click OK.
Click OK in upper right hand corner.
Should get "EPST, press OK to reset the device".
If all goes well, you will reboot into 3G.

I didn't have the half hour free to talk to Verizon that it seems to require this time. Hopefully the next occurrence I will so we can get to a more permanent solution. This is ridiculous.

Thanks. It worked for me after a reprogramming call didn't get me back to 3G.

Re: Are you having trouble staying in 3G (getting stuck in 1X), VZW TP2 folks?

well I was just stuck in 1x land again after I made some small travel around ABQ. This time I went into the communication and toggled phone off and then on, I also toggled Data Comm off and then on and whola..maybe only one will do the trick? I'm back to 3G, I still would like to know what is cauing this 1X sticking, it is not acceptable to be doing these things to get 3G back.

I'm not meaning to thread jack. But is there a hidden menu code like the **debug and **772 codes that will give me access to the EV-DO settings on the Omnia i910 for Verizon?

Re: Are you having trouble staying in 3G (getting stuck in 1X), VZW TP2 folks?

I looked through this thread and got confused.

My TP2 switches to 1X for calls and texts then switches back to EVDO. Is this not normal? I thought calls made in 3G had better battery life?

Yes that's normal. No calls get made in 3G, all calls and texts are sent via 1X. 3G is only for data.

And so far I've made it about 6 days again without issue, tomorrow would be a full week so we'll see.

And I spoke too soon. Again, i've made it 6 days without an issue and again on the 7th day, I'm stuck in 1X again. So far, none of the usual steps have helped.

WTF is up with this thing.

That seems to be another thing that causes it lol... Last Thursday, when I found myself unable to get it back to 3G, I went into EPST and I changed "Preferred Mode" in the modem settings to "CDMA HDR Only". It saved and resetted, and I've been in 3G ever since. Who knows if that will stick or not.

Re: Are you having trouble staying in 3G (getting stuck in 1X), VZW TP2 folks?

I think the key to checking is to find a 1X spot and then go back to your 3G spot and see if it changes to 3G. Thats how I will know if its fixed...
Has anyone had any luck using Verizon tech support?

Thanks, I'll try that next time.

A few *228 option 1's later and I'm back in 3G.

Round and round we go....
