I agree...wait a few weeks, at least wait until the Hero comes out and they'll probably give in to your demands because most people will be calling up to try to get the Hero for free

You know I got the same line... amazing. I looked at the video of the CEO cited above and he would be furious if he heard about this stuff, maybe he is so insulated that CS problems never get to him. He cites how their wait time is down...

Man, I did the same thing, 5 service issues in just as many months, usually taking about a week to repair. Make sme mad, so I call and ask what my options are, they transfer me to Tech support and they offer me a diamond, I said it was unacceptable and they transferred me to retentions.

Needless to say I was told I would get one free, I could get one price matched and then would always get "disconnected"...funny how they never call back...

Heard No, we dont price match, and we would never give one away free...so finally after 4 days and countless hours wastred on hold, I wrote a letter to Dan Hesse @sprint.com

Recevied a phone call within 24 hours, basically all they wanted were for me to give names of co-workers who had arranged such great deals as well as service reps they talked to...then again it was no, no, no...

Been a custoemr for 10 years, 3 lines $150 a month, and this is what I get, I still have a broken phone, and now I am dropping calls left and right.

Re: sprint sucks

I went through all the same things with the retention guy at sprint to try to get them to price match verizon. They are too good though, they looked up comparible verizon plans and showed me how sprint's plans are much cheaper and I would save the money in the long run. He also told me that he couldn't even sell me a phone, only telesales or buy it on the web. Closed case right? Wrong!

I asked very nicely if there was anything he could do to help offset the cost for me, like a credit on my account or anything. He told me he could do that and he immediately credited my account $50.00. Not the whole $150 but definately better then nothing. Plus, what other carrier is offering anymobile? That alone is a clincher for me.

Re: sprint sucks

What really cracks me up is this new plan Sprint is making such a huge deal out of. You can talk as much as you want.

A guy I know works for sprint & he told me that one of the reasons Sprint did this is, people hardly ever make cell calls anymore the way they always used to. Between texting, IM, email etc. people have cut WAY back on actual cell voice calls & price has nothing to do with it.

I am a good example of that & so is my 20 year old son. We both text like crazy & use almost no minutes a month in actual voice service. My VZ plan gives me something like 800 voice minutes a month (unlimited data/MMS/SMS etc) & I rarely use even half those minutes.........

Re: sprint sucks

reminds me y their stocks are under $5...

btw when sprint figures that they offer the best rates and service around all these threats will be a waste of time... honestly this is a great carrier and its users like this that make companies struggle...

I have not been on a contract for over 5yrs i pay full price for all my phones(from 196700 to now) and yesterday i called sprint because my TP1 was acting up, they sent me to a repair store and they said we will give you a new TP2 for your troubles..

Every1 is in business to make money and the whole idea of getting everything for free just defeats the purpose.

Re: sprint sucks

Why is it you think the next HTC phone will be any better then your current? There are hundreds if not thousands of people who had no problem with the TP, including me. You probably don't want to hear it, but if you were going in once a month to get your phone fixed its not the phone and a new phone isn't going to help. Maybe a smart phone is not the phone for you and something a little less technical would work out better for you.

Re: sprint sucks

I had a hard time with Sprint when I returned 4 years ago (Sprint>Nextel>Sprint). I got the Moto Q and my first bill was almost $1000. Eventually, we worked it out and IMHO, the CS has improved tremendously, there were times I was going over my plan mins and would rackup an enormous bill, and they have worked with me throughout and when my Moto-Q bombed I went in to one of their main hub stores and they replaced it, no problems. I've had their Simply Everything plan on 2 lines and just renewed another 2 years - dropping to the new data/mobile unlimited plan, saving even more money with my corp. discount. Even coverage has improved. So, good luck if you can find better rate plans and CS. The TP2 w/Sprint rocks! I just did the hack to get the tethering - I'm going to setup a laptop/projector/portable screen and watch the fight (Mayweather/Marquez) at the beach! Holla!

Re: sprint sucks

First, they're all lousy.

Second, I worked as a contractor to Cingular, now AT&T, for a while. I was so impressed I switched to Verizon 3 months after I started. At least with Verizon, I didn't KNOW they were screwing me and how it was done.

I haven't had any issues with Sprint's CS, contrary to the street talk. It isn't perfect, but it isn't horrendous either.
