And did I read that you settled on the first? I had that same issue with my i760 and I called up manager to manager until they gave me another, FREE, phone. which they did. Give it a shot. At the very least you will receive another phone that may be free of defect and at best you will be comped the cost of the phone, maybe more. The faster the carriers get word of an issue that actually costs them money the faster they bark and the manufacturer.
I settled for the first. It literally is a tiny dot on the top part of the screen and the only reason why I noticed it the first time was, I was in my car at night and installed a program and rebooted the phone. If it wasn't for that, I still wouldn't have known it was even there. If I showed 10 people the phone and pointed to the white spec all 10 people probably wouldn't even see it.

I think the camera test is not the best way to look for it anyway because it is not a true black screen. There are things going on with the screen at that point.

Also like I said, I had a Diamond for the past year that I thought was pixel problem free until the other day I looked at it in the dark, black screen, backlight all the way up, and sure enough there was one on the side.

As far as the manufacturer is concerned, we are such a small number of people here that we really won't put a dent in them. The average business person buying this phone will never notice this as well as the average user.

I doubt they are going to be installing better screens in the device, hence making them cost even more money. A screen with a stuck pixel on a TP2 is still a lot better then a perfect screen on a TP.

Re: Touch Pro 2 dead or stuck pixel POLL

Anyone know of a program to try and unstick some of these pixels? I believe a truly dead pixel turns out black, if I'm not mistaken. Thus it should be possible to at least attempt to fix them. I know for pc's there is color cycling you can do to try and unfreeze a pixel.. anything like that that would work on our phone?

You'd be surprised. I sent out a corporate email bomb or whatever that is called after receiving terrible phone service from verizon for the first time ever. I ranted about several things and my letter was actually used for training purposes on the west coast. I also got a ton of free crap. That just from a letter. If you talk to the right people you might make change happen. Sorry if that sounds cheesy but I believe it. As far as costing more, they wouldnt "improve" the screen, just go with a different source.

Re: Touch Pro 2 dead or stuck pixel POLL

I originally voted no, but I had one pop up on me today. With an all white screen I can see a stuck red pixel left of center. Size of a pin head though & it's not something that jumps out at me, so I'm not going to sweat it.

Re: Touch Pro 2 dead or stuck pixel POLL

Hi all
I sent this separately but I think may be it fit here better. It has some relation to stuck pixles but after a shot is taken..

I faced a very strange problem. Let go of the dead pixels, I am talking about the camera previewing the image very clear and OK. After the shot has taken place the photo is decorated with bright spots (red, blue..etc) sometimes 2, sometimes 5 it depends -I dont know on what. They are not present in the real view ofcourse. This is not dead pixels as they move and grow as I zoom in to the photo..Any similar encounters???? Or Advice. By the way, this is my second exchange from amazon. I asked them to send me a third unit.

my best regards

I had this same issue with my Titan, but then they were available in the store and I just went in and got another one within my 30 days. But now I'd have to have a third one sent to me, what a pain.

My personal feeling towards your CASE, return the 2nd one again. Call VZn and tell them the issue. And be firm when you say.. "I paid alot of money for a business phone and I expect to get one it excellent condition, and to my disbelief I have been shipped yet another Pro 2 with anomalies." Just be professional and kind. ANd they will ship you another one. And trust me... once you get a PRo without these issues you will thank me alot. And dont be discouraged, if the poll data is correct, then 3 out of 4 units are good. You just got unlucky.

Hmmm..... are you sure it pop up out of nowhere? If thats the case, thses screen are just BAD quality. Brand new 3 inch lcd devices should not have 1 dead or stuck pixel. If they do in masses lie it looks like for the PRO2 then its just a real bad cheap LCD screen. Look at the PSP, that thing had tons of dead and stuck pixels. And go back all the way to the 6700,mogul,touch,pro1,diamond and none had such a great percentage in terrible quality. One more thing, what do you all think about the back light? Some people have complained that its lite unevenly. Is this true?
