Just got released from contract with Sprint w/no ETFs this morning (was with them since last Dec. when I drove over 600 miles round trip on a lovely winter day to buy 2 Touch Pros at Best Buy since none of the local stores had them in stock) after relocating from Spokane, WA to Sunrise, FL in the past month and finding my data connection speeds at around 56k modem (ahh, weren't those the days) performance when not intermittently cutting out at the new apartment. I was fed up and extremely disappointed with Sprint's first official response after promises to return calls at specific times had been broken (at least 3 times), both from tech. support as well as retentions. They admitted that data coverage in my new area is sub-par after sending engineers out to the towers and my new place, and offered an Airave, which does me absolutely no good without a high-speed data connection which I don't have yet anyway, and really don't want or need them piggybacking off of anyway. To their credit, the last rep I spoke with was getting testy with me and I hung up on her, but she persevered and called back to leave a VM that she would be noting on my account that no ETFs will apply and I was free to go.

This will be a test drive to see if VZW's data network is better down here, and they'll get 30 days to prove it; but, if I get the same kind of data connection with them, I'll be forced to consider either AT&T (who I know has awesome data apeeds - friend with an iPhone was getting 2meg+ inside the office), or T-mobile.

Wish me luck! Hoping for no dead pixels and a fun day at the office opening the box!
