Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

These are the list of devices with the same chip architechture. wether 1 of this devices have the driver or not, These devices does not have an exceptional GPU capabilities. Now this chip is becoming obsolete. Why bother begging the manufacturers release the drivers. Why not just wait for the next gen devices. By the time they release the drivers, Tegra and Snapdragons are ruling the planet.

Texas Instruments OMAP2420 (Nokia E90, Nokia N93, Nokia N95, Nokia N82), Zune, BUGbase[1], Nokia N800, Nokia N810, Qualcomm MSM7200 (with integrated ARM926EJ-S Coprocessor@274MHz, used in Eten Glofiish, HTC TyTN II, HTC Nike), Freescale i.MX31 (used in the original Zune 30gb and Toshiba Gigabeat S), Freescale MXC300-30 (Nokia E63, Nokia E71, Nokia 5800, Nokia E51, Nokia E75, Nokia N97, Nokia N81), Qualcomm MSM7201A as seen in the HTC Dream. Proper Drivers will enable the ATI Imigeon chip build in our Duel Core CPU. With that enabled, not only will it push out more polygons but it will make all our pages scroll smooth like butter. Here.. open up your file explorer and scroll up and down, you see how it chuggs while you scroll? You see how it actually gives a page tear? Those graphic anomalies are normal when any video card runs on standard universal drivers. Those universal drivers just take use of the bare minimum power of the Imigeon Chip. Its like you removing your video card drivers from your video card from your PC. You can actually go try it yoruself and you will see that your PC will behave very similar to the PRO. Where as when you scroll on the net or open up a folder with alot of files and you scroll down and up you will see that theres page tear and a lower refresh rate. You can actually even see the hertz flash. Thats the best I can describe it. Just try it.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

Mobile CPU's are different from Desktops CPU's. There is no multiple CPU's on mobile devices. The other is a coprocessor used for the radio.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

Every mobile platform contains several different chips, to handle different specialized tasks. The "dual-core ARM" is not two ARM11 chips, as one might imagine, but rather a single ARM11 (at 600 MHz) and an ARM9 to handle the radio baseband communications (e.g. not for user tasks). By that standard, every mobile processor is "multi-core."

You just proved one of my more valid points that I have hammered for a long time. I have been saying for over 2 years that we should not BUY these devices because it just makes HTC make the next gen device exactly the same with the same issue not fixed. You just echoed what many ppl said when the Mogul and Kaiser were relleased and everyone was shocked how terrible it performed compared to the older devices. Specially when everyone loaded up Tomtom and it crawled at a mere 3 frames per second! The opposition said exactly what you just said

And keep in mind .. this was about 2 years AGO! 2 years AGO!!!!!!!! And here we are.. with the same exact problem.

Well i just did as you stated and there is no "page tear", or "chuggs" when i scroll up and down in file explorer. I am running JD's 23037 6.5 rom. I'm not going to play with parts in my computer just not that important to me. So if this is your best explanation of why we need drivers, i would have to say they really wouldn't make that big of a difference in the things i use my device for.

I might be wrong but the MSM 7XXX CPU is the industries first DUAL COre CPU. 1 CORE for PDA and 1 Core for the Radio.

Yes.. But only when the MSM7xxx cpu got released. Everything behind it.. was single core.

ZUNE? I dont thin the ZUne uses this processor. I think this info is wrong.
