Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

isn't it as capable as a nintendo ds?
that seems like it can play a couple really nice games...

i wonder if the right route to take is to ask quadcom how much fro drivers and then start collection?

Would graphics drivers help that... most likely. Would it still be possible to induce that effect even with proper graphics drivers? Probably.

To me, the problem is clearly CPU bound, but without digging in too much it's impossible to determine just how much the graphics driver would alleviate. But it would be better.

Do you think WM 5 has limitations too? Remember the 6700 and prior devices? They ran 10x time fater than our current devices. So you cannot say its the OS fault. Ridiculous.

Game consoles does not have OS's like WM or Vista to deal with. Software is in direct contact with GPU. Unlike WM or XP, There are a lot of running processes, dll, IRQ's etc to deal with.
U see, If U build a custom gaming rig, Ur 2 gran does not even perform as well as PS3. And PS3's are onlu 400 bucks. The Specs is not even close to ur 2gran gaming rig.

There you go! Even the common man can see that the flaw in IN the CPU. Even HTC has admitted that. They have said over and over that its a licensee issue and not the CPU. pbeaul... there is no need to come to my defence. Its a matter of knowledge of how devices work and the date behind it. I am not trying to make enemies but rather spitting back at HTC and Qualcomn for again shoving yet another cripple device. After we all (well some, over 10000 ppl) compained about it 2 years ago and some moaned in how we are wrong and HTC is right. But look where that got us? Here.. to the exact same problem.

U can aask 100 people. And U will have 100 different opinions that 6700 are faster than TP's.

Sorry to burst your bubble. But I just build a 1000 dollar rig. And it blows away the PS3 in frame rates and it 2x times the resolution. So I reeally beg to differ.

Use 6.5 and see the difference.

OK.. here a question and answer it fully and respectful like you have done.(thank you). DO you agree that the 6700 running on WM 5 ran faster in videos encoding , games, and 2d apps like gps apps? Simple yes or no.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

I wouldn't agree that it's a "flaw" in the CPU... just that there is an abundance of data to process and only a limited amount of CPU cycles available. This is a typical CPU bound problem... not something unique to the HTC devices.

I can open up a few 10,000 file folders on my desktop and the same thing will occur.
