NOT! dropping, re-buffering and conectivity issues are a HUGE problem AND the MAJORITY of FREE music stations operate at 64kbps (some are COMPRESSED which TRYS to imitate 96kbps at 64kbps but fails miserably). FM functionality would do a few things: no dropped signal crap like you WOULD/WILL/ECT get with apps like kinoma and Internet radios, batter life, and in most cases of your favorite station, QUALITY

also last time i looked at TP FM stats (GSM of course from what users posted in the GSM forums for the Diamond and TP) the battery life is at least 2-4 hours longer then if you where to be using a constant DATA connection... (this is abstract based upon the many people who asked how their batter life was while using FM compared to those using an Internet radio alternative)

think before you speak...
Think before I speak? You don't need to insult people, sir.

Just because Kinoma play doesn't work for you because you are in an area with lousy coverage doesn't mean that this solution won't work for many people. Don't get me wrong I WANT THE FM RADIO. I'M P.O'D THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE IT. But wishing and throwing a fit isn't going to get you a radio in a device that DOESN'T HAVE IT. Other carriers have included the radio in their handsets. If you want an FM radio in your phone that bad, then change carriers and get one with a radio. Geez. Sprint isn't going to change for you or me.

The Kinoma Play is a viable solution for many people. Your solution of throwing a fit and insulting people isn't going to help anyone listen to the radio on their Touch Pro 2.

If you've ever tried to listen to a radio that uses the headphones for an antenna, you would know that unless you're right next to the transmitter tower, you will have fading and drop outs as you move around.

Yes, it costs money. Not all that much for what it does and well worth it in my opinion. If you don't want to pay for it, there are less elegant streaming software solutions that are free.

On a side note, I've been using WunderRadio & love it. It's not free, and it requires a data connection, but it's still worth checking out: http://www.wunderradio.com/
I second the use of Wunderradion. Great app, well worth the little that they ask for. Try it first before you buy it.

Re: Touch Pro 2 FM Radio Questions/Answers

I just tried out WunderRadio and it seems like a pretty good app. I do have one problem though. When I choose 'Local Radio by GPS' it does not find local stations. The stations it comes up with are for a different city (and state). Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts?

BTW, Kinoma FreePlay is free and includes SHOUTcast and Live365. (http://kinoma.com/freeplay/get/)

Re: Touch Pro 2 FM Radio Questions/Answers

Has anyone seen this link yet?

Is it possible to port this solution over to the touch pro 2?
