Maybe I missed something somewhere, but everything I've seen here and on XDA says the CDMA and GSM versions use the same bluetooth chip (which is where the FM reciever is) and in an email from VZW tech support, they acknowledged the capability, but will not release software supporting it. They said I should use Pamdora or Slacker.

Sooo basically you are just repeating the same thing we have all known forever. The hardware is there but the software is crippled. Because that is exactly what the page you linked states.

Actually the software is not crippled. It's the bootloader that does not initialize the hardware address in the bluetooth chipset. As a phone is powering on, a number of "commands" <--laymens terms, are sent to various hardware components. Camera, phone radio <-- "not the fm radio", bluetooth irq's, It's up to the carrier wether or not they want to turn certain things on and off. So, the hardware is there, the software that works on the GSM versions, would most likely work on the CDMA verions if the FM radio was enabled. The FM software uses the standard windows framework, regardless, until the the hardware is "turned-on" we will not have true FM radio. I was working on it, and was able to actually get a response back from the FM radio back before the HSPL was released, but gave up to work on other projects.

Maybe you can provide some of your thoughts/work to people who are still working on it to enable it assuming you still are busy with other project.

This might sound dumb, but why does everyone keep saying "the GSM version" or the "CDMA version" the TP2 is a WORLD BAND phone, meaning it has BOTH GSM and CDMA, or did some people get a totally different version? i have verizons version of the TP2.

verizons version is what verizon calls a world phone, and has dual radios. Sprints version is also a "world phone". Both are primarily CDMA phones and do not pick up Att's 3g signal because it doesn't pick up ATT's 3g band, but they can pick up Att's edge band.
ATT's tilt 2 and TMo's TP2 do not have a CDMA radio and are GSM only.

Silly question but if this works does that mean TMC will a GPS program would work as well?

And an even sillier question; would my phone be able to TRANSMIT radio signals? Meaning I can set it to 88.1 and listen to my phone in my car on that station?
