I can't believe with the far reaching grasp that these devices have and all of the amazingly creative people that this site attracts, that the very people that work in the respected companies that build these devices won't shed a little anonymous help our way for the better good and give the general public a little boost to get issues like this solved. I can't think of any other PPC issues that I have seen so much internet speculation over in recent times. I see so many people just blurt things out that they have no idea about. I really urge anyone that has any (actual) knowledge about how we can get this working to come forward if for nothing more than just give a little push so that the really driven people of this site (at a minimum) can make this work. I think that if we gt someone from Broadcom to shed some light on the subject that we would really get some where on this.=D> Lets go PPC Geeks!

I'm not really sure how to take this post, however I will asssume it was meant in a positive manner.
I have been working on this issue for a while, and have tried numerous front end approaches that have been successful in other attempts to hack various items. However I can say this, as an embedded developer I have discovered that the initialization calls to the BCM4325 are not made in our TP2 cdma devices at the time of bootup. If I had a board support package for this phone I would be able to make the correct calls to the microcontroller, and compile a new bootloader as long as I could get it signed by a cert. Thats in Olinex's department though, and I'm not sure they're working on it though. So as a previous poster said, it's probably going to remain locked until Sprint or Verizon decide to compete with the GSM versions of this phone or the iDevice. It's there, but just not turned on at the bootup of the device. It's not off my plate though.
I have board support packages for the microcontrollers on the TP2 and SDK's for the BCM4325 , and am working on getting other development resources together, however Qaulcomm is not very forthcoming with their stuff. So if anywone can offer any assistance in getting additional items together, I'm sure we can do this. I know how to do it, I just dont have all the tools.

The problem with what you are asking people to do is this: Most people that work in the industry have to sign a contract stating that they will not talk about what they are doing with the public. This forum is "the public". I am sure that many people would love to come forth and let us all know what is going on, but by doing so it would constitute ethical, and moral values being challenged, not to mention the possibile loss of employment. Therefore, even asking someone to make that breach of trust for the sake of a forum is not acceptable, and also one that should not be tolerated.

I completely respect that.. Honestly though , how do you think we get all the latest WM Builds ? Or the Shipped ROMS before the phone is even released. Someone has to leak information. I know when MS gives me a new "BETA" or "RC" I have to agree to not disclose it. Heck they even give full source code to their entire "core" OS for winmobile 6.1 and CE 5.0-->6.0 However I am not asking anyone to disclose anything that would be a breach of security, or an NDA, or any other confidentiality agreement. But if anyone knows of any links that I may have missed or some company ABC that has already got "things" then by all means please pass them by and I'll take a look at and apply them if possible. I mean we eventually figure anything out, it's just a bunch of 01's in the right order.

Sprint Network + Sirius = heaven although i do miss a lil FM

What happened those whom were going to contact the FCC. Any headway yet.

i dont understand why they would remove or lock down the FM radio either, this would lead people to streaming radio which would consume more of the carriers bandwidth...doesent make much sense to me

It is because they have their own applications to listen to music and they want to take all of our money.
