I'd be more willing to pay for a FM radio unlocker over a sim unlocker.

Yes, and it's exactly why I'll be waiting for the HTC Leo (Sprint Adonis) to see if the FM radio can be unlocked on that device.

But who knows? The Hard-SPL is today's big news. When things calm down a bit around here, people will be asking for FM radio on the Sprint TP2. Best to wait and see, right?

I want an FM receiver for one reason.. FM Modulators on the TV's at the Gym!!!

me too!!! The radio stations I can listen to anywhere via the internet (http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/).

I just want it to pass RDS to iGO8 for traffic / weather alerts.

that would be great. i have officially trashed tomtom and switched to igo8. i really miss the traffic

ditto on ditching tomtom for igo8. once you get it working, it's far better.

Hate to bump the thread but am curious if there is any progress on this now that the SPL unlocker has been released? I've been eyeing a CDMA TP2 for a while but the FM Radio (or lack thereof) may be a deal breaker.

Also is anyone willing to explain to me all the key little details of how PPC devices operate and the software and hardware therein? I've been researching as much as I can but cannot get a single clue what the SPL is or does or how it clues in to any of this work here so far. I'm usually very attuned to this stuff but this is one key bit that seems to have zero documentation anywhere outside of people throwing the term around constantly.
