Re: Dont want to give up my TP2, But is it time?
what i said before was from my own personal experience with the device and my own personal thoughts/experience on the OS, personally I dont give a fack, thats my thought on WP7, shut up and eat it or disagree, but ill be damned if im going to sit here and listen to someone say i am "uninformed (just thumbed through)" or "never used" or anything of that sort of trolling bullshit, i might have continued it, but dont start being a dick if you dont expect someone to reply in a similar dick-like manner
as for the microSD comment that was made, i will attest, my 8GB, 4GB and 1GB cards DID NOT work properly, but all tested the fastest available using benchmark tools then any other microSD's at the time i bought them (BestBuy return policy FTW), you have to be REALLY picky and get the proper microSD card with the proper speed's else, yes, changing the card, and making sure it works is a huge hassle (i should note that this comment is made regardless of the fact that since I used the WP7 device, there have been an update or 2 or 3 that could have solved/lessened this issue) now that its "nuff said" on that subject, lets get back on topic before you needlessly derailed it I am seriously looking at the Evo Shift, might not be all that great compared to the coming of the Evo 3D but if i had to pick a keyboard device id want to replace my TP2, the Evo Shift looks like a good candidate, might swing by its forums and see if i can catch a few previous TP2 owners and see what their thoughts are on the change over between the 2

And as for the original topic, I think now is really the most peculiar time to be thinking of dropping the TP2. At this point we have Android 2.2 (Froyo) working almost perfectly. Within the past couple days we've gotten kernel patches to fix the audio routing, and also to fix the bluetooth driver. I've patched the kernel to get USB mass storage working correctly. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any significant features that will be missing from our next Android build. It will in fact run better than native devices like my G1.

Re: Dont want to give up my TP2, But is it time?
It is time to get rid of my TP2. Really sad my TP2 is working great with three GPS program and it can be used oversea.
Come on 3D. Come out now.

My fix for USB mass storage was committed May 1. Bluetooth support was first enabled sometime around March 14, but was disabled again due to some other bugs, and re-enabled April 15. Audio routing was committed May 2. My fix for USB tethering was committed yesterday/today. If you follow the autobuild site Linux kernel zImages and modules for htc-msm-linux you can grab a compiled kernel to try out. This stuff is in all the FAQs, how can you not know this already? |

Re: Dont want to give up my TP2, But is it time?
highlandsun, thanx for info i am going to be trying android on my TP2 before I jump inot a new device.
Also, about the 3D in the EVo 3D... there are different 3D technologies, and the Nintendo version is a flop as i know people trading it back in. I think Nintendo's version was the cheapest implementation of 3D, and I am shure HTC version is much better, as it's screen is highest resolution and has higher resolution than even new iPhone. Yet if the UI does not make use of it in a practical helpful way, it may just end up being useful, mainly for the pictures. With Android on TP2 it may be as good as the Evoshift, so I may hold out untill another keyboard phone comes out..

I'll never give up my $30/mo SERO 500 plan and as far as I know, the TP2 is the "best" phone I can have on it.
