But anyways.. Looks like mine is completely dead now though, it only turns on when I restart the phone.. Other than that, the screen never turns on, but I can still receive texts and phone calls and change the volume etc. Going to pass by Sprint tomorrow so I'm gonna drop it off and hopefully, get a new TP2 lol At least I wasn't the only one with this problem
yay, i just got my replacement and the issue has seemed to have disappeared! and i can still overclock @ 768. i was hoping to be able to oc higher but oh well. i really dont think this has to do with what rom you are on. ive been on stock sprint 6.5 since the day after it was released and never had this issue until recently.

Re: Screen not turning on after sleep (but not SOD)

yeah...I stand corrected.

even running the stock rom, I've had it happen to me a few times today, although not nearly as frequently as with a 3rd party rom.

wish I didn't have to pay $100 to replace this thing when i'd really like an epic =P

hmmm. i just thought about something... back when i had my alltel mogul i began to have this issue. i had that particular phone over a year and gave it pure hell though. after i got my sprint tp1 and ditched verizon right after the "takeover", i opened up the mogul and noticed the ribbon cable going to the screen was torn just a little. i had forgot all about that... i took very good care of my 9 month old tp2, never dropped it at all. so that could be the cause of this issue since it seems to be an issue with the screen. the power button turns the screen on but for some reason, the screen doesnt fully turn on. a small rip in the ribbon cable could probably cause this...

$100 deductible? do you not have TEP? and the manufacturer's warranty should still cover it if your tp2 is under 1 year old.

I have TEP, but when I went into the store yesterday, they wanted to charge me $100 for a replacement...I have had this phone replaced once before but it was $50 through asurion...

they are trying to rip you off man! youve got TEP, no need to pay a dime! with TEP, you only have to pay if you damaged the phone or if its lost or stolen. go to that store and talk to a manager. thats the whole purpose of TEP, at least i thought...

that's what I was thinking myself but I thought they had just changed some policies...

anyhow spoke to a rep over the phone at a repair location (actually not even a real sprint store, place called orbit tech) who said whomever I spoke with at the sprint corporate store was wrong, and that if he couldn't fix my handset he'd replace it free of charge...

Re: Screen not turning on after sleep (but not SOD)

i went to sprint today and it took the guy 30 seconds to look at the phone and determine that it was a loose ribbon. unfortunately, he said that since the TP2 isn't a common phone, they don't stock parts for it, so he ordered me a replacement and it should be here monday.
hopefully it's not a refurb, but anything's better than this
