Re: New SERO Oct 1st
why do you guys not get this. there was NO legal and not legal sero phones. you could use ANY TECH COMPATIBLE phone you wanted to.
these "restricted" phones that are full tech compatible IS THE ISSUE. hell sprint even SAYS it right in their terms. Sprint does not make the hardware nor support it thats up to the manufacturer. SO why should sprint decide what your plan can use JUST because its "cool" if its otherwise tech compatible with your plan? Last edited by nerys; 09-10-2010 at 11:08 AM. |

Re: New SERO Oct 1st
aren't you all tired of arguing over $10 fees? You won't change these fees until Sprint decideds they want to change it. It is what it is - either do or don't - that's it.

Re: New SERO Oct 1st
nerys...why can't you accept the fact that there are SERO users like us that thinks this new plan offer by Sprint works for us? just because YOU yourself do not find the anytime any mobile and sprint navi to your satisfaction and stated you have no need for it, it does NOT mean that it's not beneficial for other SERO customers like me.
for me...it works because my SERO plan will stop functioning as strictly a backup line within the next 6 or so months. my oldest son is getting to that age where i want to give him his own cell phone so that when he is not home when expected...i have a way to get a hold of him. and im pretty sure not all of his friends will have Sprint phones. so that original mobile to mobile that comes with the plan already....how many do you think of my son's friends will have sprint too? and how long do you think that 500 free anytime minutes will last for a kid at the age of 11? so that anytime any mobile that is worthless to you is the difference for me paying an extra $5-$20 a month for overage. i don't want to pay $70+tax each month for a plan for my kid. so $40 for an 11yo kid's phone plan is the cheapest post-paid plan im gonna find with the add-ons that come with it. that saves me $30/month by not going on the Everything Data plan. and using the same reasoning you originally used, that $30 a month i save being on SERO premium translates to $3,600 in the span of 10 years. so if my calculations are correct based on your example $3,600 - $1,200 (the extra $10/moth over 10 years) = to the amount you complained of $2,400 you're going to be spending over 10 years that I will be saving. and another good thing about it too is.....i can keep going back and forth to the $30 and $40 plan whenever i want. yup! Sprint is giving me that choice. true the phone that is activated can't be an iconic phone when switching back to the $30 plan. but c'mon...do you guys really think an 11 y.o. needs to be using a ppc device? if he wants a ppc device...he can use my tp2 on it and that my friend...is the reason why you need to stop wondering why some SERO customers, like me, is standing on the other side of the fence from where you are. you've stated and argued your side and other SERO customers has chimed in and gave their opinion about what they think....so in IMHO, when you keep stating how it's not beneficial for SERO customers.....

Re: New SERO Oct 1st
Why don't you bring out proof that there were some terms on contract that lets you use any phone you want? Because all you are doing is making up a statement that sprint lets you use any device? Like I said, i was selling phones since 2000 and there has never been a clause that stated you can use a unicorn with sprint service. I remember when there were tiers for data, $10, $20, and $30, now they offer the $30 package for $10 for SERO users.
WebOS, Androind, and the instinct were not around when SERO came about, so why would they be open to use for a contract you signed in 2006? 2008 when the instinct came about, that was the first device that sprint put the hold on SERO and they have the freedom to add as many devices to that list as they want.

"nerys...why can't you accept the fact that there are SERO users like us that thinks this new plan offer by Sprint works for us? "
which is the core problem. Because your ok with it me and others get STUCK with it. Precisely when will it stop being ok with you? when they compel another $10 or $20 2 Years from now? when your account is $70 5 years from now? When does it become NOT ok with you? |

Re: New SERO Oct 1st
well when did the terms say I COULD NOT use any phone mr. sprint since 2000. I say there was no such rule UNTIL the instinct.
My contention is that sprint should NOT be permitted to make such rules. This is not sprints sand box contrary to what people thing. We have laws and we decide what those rules are. IE sprints rules need to reasonable. My contention is that this is NOT reasonable. normally market forces will enforce reasonable limits on a company. but market forces DO NOT APPLY normally in this context because they are using OUR AIRWAVES and we have unwillingly (thanks FCC) granted them an effective oligarchy via selling bandwidth and the intrinsic limits of that bandwidth (frequency bands) thats all.
