Re: New SERO Oct 1st

Can't we all play nice?

It seems like with Sprint's introduction of this new SERO Premium plan, if you want to keep SERO you need to get either a dumb phone or upgrade and shell out $10 extra a month.

As it was before they announced SERO premium, the only smart phones available (legally) on SERO were WM6.5 phones (e.g. TP2 or Intrepid). PalmOS, Android, BB have all been excluded from old SERO for sometime (even "Instinct" phones have been excluded, but I don't think they're even technically smart phones). Since WM6.5 is dead (discontinued), and I'm pretty sure WM7 won't be allowed on old SERO, Sprint has all the leverage. I guess they were trying to make a compromise, since EPRP 500 costs $30 more a month than SERO 500. Sprint didn't have to create SERO Premium, but at the same time people's frustration over constructively being forced to pay $10 extra a month is understandable.

I am of the mindset that beggars can't be choosy. We all just went from either $30/mo for a dumb phone or $60/mo for a smart phone to $40/mo. Everyone has the right to complain, but let's be honest a sense of entitlement is a little extreme. Then again it is all relative. People not on SERO thing SERO people complaining are out of line, but as a SERO 500 plan holder, I am not happy about the situation, but I'll take any scraps Sprint throws at me, because after all beggars can't be choosy.
