As for the Home icon, I may be able to help you with that one. I'm pretty good at tracking down links, paths and such. Be back on in an hour or so. Really appreciate your efforts. =D> Regards, QA |

Re: Unlock
Well, you did something. After installing, I noticed the backlight would dim but never turned off. Gee whiz!
A soft reset was the only option I had at the moment. It seemed to restore normal function. The Qanda message comes up more frequently, but not every time I unlock. If I continue to unlock, the message stops appearing AND the backlight goes out immediately. It never dims first (30 second set), and does not wait the (1) minute to which I have it set to power down. Could the script disrupte the normal device timeouts for the screen including backlight? IMPORTANT QUESTION: Does your diagnostic script permanently change any registry settings? In case things go wrong, will uninstalling the script put things back to where they were? The device is starting to become unstable, so I need a way to restore it to normal operation quickly. We can always analyze what happened later, but the phone is my only source of contact with clients on the road. Regards, QA PS: I tried to help with the Home icon but your right. It shows nowwhere. Could it be hard coded? Would it be possible to find the Home icon used in the slider? Oh well. Back to the drawing board. Last edited by qanda; 11-06-2011 at 08:43 PM. |

Ok, if your script isn't doing it, then lets move on. The time to read the registry was increased but it still is not working correctly. Do you have any other ideas? QA |

Re: How to lock volume buttons while phone is locked?
elesbb,
This might confuse things, but I removed the Screen Off when Locked and the issue with the Backlight stopped. I noticed that when the Backlight suddenly shut down, it was usually about 5 seconds. It didn't dim, just went off. I'll put the script back shortly. Not sure what this means, but I wanted to let you know in case both scripts are running into the same trouble. Can I remove the diagnostic script now, or do you want me to leave it installed? Regards, QA Last edited by qanda; 11-07-2011 at 09:37 AM. |

and you can remove it if you want to , i am begining to wonder if the issue has something to do with having s2u2 on your device before . cause every script works perfectly on the stock rom , so it should work for you ... would you be able to use spb backup or another app to backup everything so you can try a hard reset ? hard resets are good every once in a while anyhow ooooo i has an idea , immediatly following an unlock , try to adjust the volume using the volume keys . if it "lags" or delays before adjusting the volume then there is some considerable lag in changing the reg entry on windows part , thus providing my script useless for unlocking to home . |

At the moment, I think we are at a standstill until I can find the time to hard reset the device. It is possible that something in the OS is messed up. It could have been S2U2 which developed issues, or it could simply be something went astray. Who knows. Regards, QA Last edited by qanda; 11-07-2011 at 06:39 PM. |
