Re: How to lock volume buttons while phone is locked?

Here is a step by step of what I did: Method 1 1. installed via CAB 2. soft reset 3. Tapped the Unlock to Home icon in the Start menu. First message came up and asked that I navigate to the Home page in 5 seconds. This is where things get confusing. There are few ways to 'navigate' to the Home page. I can X out the Start menu, or use the hard key. I tapped the icon, then used the hard key to return to Home. 4. The second message comes up to try the Unlock to Home 5. I opened the device to my Inbox, let it time out and then lock. 6. I unlock the device, and it remains on the Inbox. Method 2 Steps 1, 2 and 3 are the same except: After tapping YES to the first message, I tapped the top bar to go into the Start menu and tapped the HOME icon. 4. Screen jumped to Home a second or two before the second message came up. I figured this worked. 5. I opened up my Calender, then let the device time out and lock. 6. I unlocked the device, and it remained on the Calender. Ok, what am I doing wrong? QA Last edited by qanda; 11-04-2011 at 04:35 PM. |

Here is what I did. 1. uninstallcab....done 2. reinstall script.....done 3. soft reset....NOPE 4. tapped the Unlock to Home icon. Went to Home screen. So far so good. I let is sit, and sit. It almost timed out twice (2 mintues). It did not go to the message "to try it". The first message "5 seconds to navigate to home screen" came up. I waited to see if it would go by itself to the second message but it didn't, so I decided to tap YES. 6. It sat for a second or two, THEN the "try it" message came up. I tapped OK. 7. I opened the Inbox, and let it time out on the Inbox as before. 8. Unlocked device and it remained on the Inbox. I repeated steps 4 to 8 two more times, but no luck. Back to square one. I think I did exactly as you instructed, but it isn't working as expected. Something is wrong. You tested it on your HTC TP2 loading Sense and it worked without issue? Strange. I'll leave this in your capable hands as mine are tied right now. Keep me posted. I can't thank you enough for the time your putting in to this. Sorry we are not getting the reward as yet. Re: How to lock volume buttons while phone is locked?
Email Inbox. I slide over to Email, then open the Inbox and leave it that way until it locks.
When I had S2U2 installed, it would return to the Home screen every time. No matter how I left the device, or where, it would always unlock to the Home screen with the clock and weather, Quick links, and slider bar. Quote:

We checked the OS and ROM. It's stock, and as I have said, the device is capable of unlocking to the Home screen since S2U2 was able to perform the operation, but had too many other issues. I wish there was more information that could be provided. Any entries I could check? Diagnostics? Registry entries? Snapshot? (Don't have an app for that yet). Since you have it working on the stock 6.5 ROM you tired, I'll understand if you don't wish to spend any more time on this. It was worth a try. All caught up on your 'Thanks'. Re: How to lock volume buttons while phone is locked?
this script is so simple i can't believe its not working lol . i will get this working for you !
all the script does is check the registry to see if the device is locked , and if youre using lockdevice it will lock it when it goes into standby . then it checks to see if it has become unlocked , then it opens the window which holds your home screen . there are only 3 things which can go wrong , 1st , its not changing the reg value , 2nd its not noticing the reg change , and 3rd its not getting the window . we know the script is getting the proper window , and i think the reg values are being read properly , as you said my other script works . ill make a diagnostic script which will log everything . in the mean time , change the "Screen off when locked" delay time to like 5 just to confirm its working properly . thanks qanda ! Ok, let me know what you wish me to do. I know my way around a registry editor in case you need some values checked. Screen off when Locked set to 5 seconds. Works fine. Regards, QA Last edited by qanda; 11-05-2011 at 03:20 PM. Reason: Additional registry information |

[QUOTE=qanda;2154189]I am sure you will but you can stop at any time you feel the effort is too time consuming.[/AUOTE]
Nahhh it dont bother me , i just wish i had the device next to me so i can see whats going on . id hate to have you hard reset . so i'll make a log script to log everything the program needs . Quote:

all the cabs i create from here on out , INSTALL WITHOUT UNINSTALLING the original . any cab i creat from here on out will overwrite any files it needs . so just leave my "unlock to home screen" cab installed onto the device . im not doing much today (other than black ops and battlefield 3 xP) so i can work on it today . im eager to get this working ! |
