A soft reset was the only option I had at the moment. It seemed to restore normal function.

The Qanda message comes up more frequently, but not every time I unlock. If I continue to unlock, the message stops appearing AND the backlight goes out immediately. It never dims first (30 second set), and does not wait the (1) minute to which I have it set to power down.

The script seems the script has disrupted the normal device timeouts for the screen including backlight.
