Gets me too. Except for the backlight issue which seems to be related to the Screen off When Locked script, and the Unlock to Home not working, the device shows no other problems.

The volume control is normal. One click brings up the screen and each additional click changes the volume. That's the way it has always worked even from the initial turnon.

Sometimes it's not so glorius. Most of the time we manage systems in the cockpit with little flying ourselves. The auto systems do most of the work. Occasionally, we fly into Allentown or Brandywine but are seldom in PA.

Check back in a few days to see if I've done the hard reset. I want to test the scripts without any other apps installed. Bare bones. If they work, then I'll add program by program to see if there is any conflict.
Can't do it until I get home to access my calender and client contacts list.

Let's not speculate further until the hard reset is done and we see the results. Take a needed rest from this until then.

Ok. I forget that I have BU apps on the phone. I can use Pim Backup for the essential appointments, calendar and such. I also have PHM Reg. Edit/Backup but I don't think we want to reuse the registry on it now in case there is an issue with it.
Other files I can have sent to me, so if I get some down time today, I will do the hard reset.
So, check the thread later on.

Getting the files and backups ready to dump to the device but the stupid Mobile Device Center is not stable on the desktop to which I have access.
Don't want to do the Hard Reset unless I am confident that all the needed files can be transferred.

thanks man ! you have been a great boy scout ! its actually funny you mention that , cause i truly am an Eagle Scout :P

i appreciate the fact you are hard reseting ! i know it can be a pain at times im usually flashing new ROM's to my device so i hardly care xP plus everything like cab's and other important docs are on my MicroSD .

Thanks again for trying the hard reset ! after you do that , just install the original cab i made for unlocking to home found in this current thread , i still didnt fix the one on the other thread where you found the screen off while locked script :P

It's a pain at any time and I'm not looking forward to doing it. Too many things could go wrong, but we have gone this far, so why not finish the race.

Yes, I have many files and CABs on the SD, so it will cut down my work.
PIM should restore all my contacts, calender and tasks. The other files are on a portable hard drive, and some were sent to me today.
It will be a late night, but hopefully I can get to it before tomorrow.

The sky will be empty tomorrow, and I need to be in it.

Ok. The hard reset is done.

YES and a very big NO.

Hard reset went fine, but the Screen unlock to home does not work. I installed nothing other than Lock Device, Mort script, the Screen delay script, and the Unlock to home script.

In addition, I have issues now I did not have before.

1. I need NetCF installed for one of my apps. It was installed before the rest. When I try to use the app, error message says I need NetCF. No biggie. I tried to reinstall it. I get an error message it is already installed but it does not show on the Remove Programs list, and the device will not let me install a new copy.
Do you know what to do ?

2. all my wallpaper shows 3 times on the screen like if it is tiled.
Is that a setting somewhere?

I have been working on this stupid phone for an hour and a half! I told you I hate hard resets!

Can you help me with these two issues so I can get the phone back to where it was?

YES and a big NO

Hard reset done but script still does not work.
In addition, I am left with two issues I did not have!

1. My wallpaper appears as if it is tiled.....instead of one nice jpeg.

2. One of my apps needs Net CF which is factory installed.
When I ran the app that required NetCF, an error message said it needed NetCF. I figured it was removed with the reset so I tried to reinstall it. Another error message popped up saying a Net CF is already installed, and to remove the copy before installing a new copy. I tried to remove it but it does not show in the Remove Programs list. I checked the registry and under NetCF, there is no version or key value.

I don't think we will ever figure out now why your Unlock to Home script isn't working.
If a hard reset does not fix things, what the heck could it be?
