Re: STAYING with WinMo
sprint sero means I am staying on Sprint with a Winmo phone however it would be the best gift ever if Sprint got a snap dragon winmo phone before WP7 hits the streets.

Re: STAYING with WinMo
PLEASE READ
Well guys, I started this thread, and although I did state that I was STAYING with WinMo.....my TP2 crapped out on me for the FOURTH time. I feel like the world's biggest hypocrite after starting this thread, but I too will be leaving WinMo. My TP2's charging port failed in the end. It would no longer charge with the HTC cable or sync to the computer with the HTC USB cable. It would however charge with my RAZR charger (min USB). Took it in to the store and the lady said the same old "we can send a refurb to you." But this time, she encouraged me to call Verizon Customer Service since this would be my FIFTH TP2. I called over to Verizon Customer Service, and it turned out "incredible" They are sending me a BRAND NEW in the box Droid Incredible for free! I get to keep my current TP2 as well! It still runs perfect, charges fine (with mini USB cable, not HTC cable), it just won't sync to computer. I think I came out pretty well

Re: STAYING with WinMo
Android has really made a lot of leaps in the last year. I like that it's an OS with a future. What I don't like is the aging WM platform. It's dated, support has been officially killed, it's obtuse at times, and it's really really slow, even on a fast phone like the HD2. WM7 is going to leave us all behind, and 6.5 is not going to hold up next to the new iPhone OS, Palm OS, BB OS, and Android.

I would leave out the BB OS. I am getting the new phone cravings though. Come on wp7. My upgrade is coming in October.

I'm kicking this P.O.S. to the curve! Tired of the phone (6.5) freezing in key/important situations, plus all the new OS's will be basically copying iphones OS, so Y stay, when eventually you'll be forced to choose, Apple, android, or W7. Plus Eventually it will become obsolete and you'll be forced to upgrade, whether its due to lack of support or phone replacement.

Re: STAYING with WinMo
I'm sticking with WinMo for now. Compared with blackberry, the browser and PIM apps are better (although I think the BB is a much more "efficient" device to use).
Android looks very promising, but still has some shortcomings. My IT department isn't satisfied with the secure email/PIM capabilities so we have to use a product from "Good Messaging" if we want our corp stuff on an Android device -- no thanks. My TP2 does everything I need right now and I've spent way too much time messing around and tweaking it with custom ROMs/apps, but I enjoy it. Long term, I may switch to Android or Blackberry since google is rapidly fixing Android's shortcomings and RIM reports that they will address browsing limitation. We'll also have to see if MS delivers on the Win7 hype. But for now, it's WinMo for me... |

Re: STAYING with WinMo
Future Isnt to Bright for you guys staying on winmo
the best way to get quality apps is with a high quantity of developers. seems devs are jumping off winmo faster than the titanic! im sure you guys here and at xda will keep the platform alive for some time but theres only so much you can do with a platform thats doesnt have a lot of support, theres only so many reg edits you can do. i can agree that android does has some (very few) shortcomings especially in the enterprise arena, but personally i decided to jump off the sinking winmo ship before my toes hit the water ![]() good luck guys!
