Same here I agree with this statement 100% except I stoped dealing with the original TP and called sprint retentions after my second one gave me issues, thats how I got my TP2 for free as well.

Very solid device as Hardware goes. I have flashed the device more times than I can remember and no issues of yet either.

Re: How's the durability of the TP2 so far?

As for hardware problems, I had the microphone go out on my first phone in October. I had the rainbow banding in the screen in January. And now I'm on my third Touch Pro 2 with the rainbow banding again. Going to Verizon this Saturday and they will be shipping me yet another refurb (4) promptly after. Go with insurance for sure and you should be fine. As for keyboard, it has been great. No keyboard problems, just the mic and 2 bad screens. Good Luck!

before you have them ship you another TP2...go and talk to the manager of the store...after the 3rd phone replacement they are supposed to give you a "FRU"...basically they will echange out your faulty device with a phone that is comparable in specs to your TP2...I had to go through Verizon this way with my original Blackberry Storm, I ended up getting another brand new one which ended up being the Storm 2.....but thats what they are supposed to do....

That is pretty much what all Cell companys do theses days....

Re: How's the durability of the TP2 so far?

I notice there are a good amount of people saying they turn off the screen while typing. Maybe they have big hands. I have never had that problem. I also place my left hand under the keyboard when typing and not also on the top screen.

Well, enough people do have the problem that there is a specific app posted in the stickies to prevent it......

yeah ihave always turned off the screen when using the keyboard, i tap the Power button with the inside of my left index finger.

the Cab fix for that would be cool

forgot to add, i have 2 Tp2's in my Garage bathroom waiting to go back to Verizon. There will always be a couple sour apples in a Bushel of apples

The fix is in the stickies (that's where I got it)

If you can't find it, I will post it later (I don't have it with me at work)

Re: How's the durability of the TP2 so far?

No HW problems, but the slew of moisture markers makes me very nervous of getting denied for an insurane claim IF anything does go wrong (coming from a line of HTC/Audiovox devices, it will). I recommend never taking it to the bathroom when showering, letting it cold and then walking into a hot/humid home, etc.. There's even one of the markers right next to the 3.5mm mic jack which I've blocked with a small piece of rubber.

As far as the power button, you can also re-assign it in keyboard config. It's been fine for me, so much so that holding it for 0.3 seconds performs a soft-reset.

Re: How's the durability of the TP2 so far?

I have to say the TP2 has done well for me. It has survived my 18 month daughter getting ahold of it and dropping it on the wood floor a few times, it's fallen out of my car onto pavement twice when I was getting out and it survived a fall down my stairs (about 8 of the 12 steps) onto a hard tile floor without even a hiccup. surprisingly with all that I only have 3 small scratches on the case and no hardware problems.
