Here is a step closer. In each of the areas where you made the initial reg edit to be 31 for AvailableOptions. There is also a string with value name "Duration", go back and set all of these to 1 and it blinks for only 1 minute. If you try setting it to zero it goes to No Limit so that doesn't help. Not sure if anyone knows of a data value we could use that would equal None or not, but that would be a big help.

anykey - I originally went through all of the "AvailableOptions" strings that had a DWORD value of 9 and changed them all to 15 (as per something I read elsewhere on ppcgeeks). Should I change those to 31 instead? Should I change them all to 31, regardless of what the initial value was? What other options am I unlocking by changing to 31 instead of 15?

To be honest with you, I have no idea what changing them to 31 does verses 15. I know wonder if it is necessary to change that particular setting at all, since it really doesn't allow you to turn off the LED notification by unchecking the box anyway. I wonder if we only made an edit to the duration value and left the availableoptions alone, if we wouldn't net the same result we have now. The LED flashing for 1 minute instead of 5 minutes. I would test that theory out if I could remember what they were set to originally.

take a file explorer an look in the windows folder n look 4 settings, try an open it an if thats the right one that should be your path

Edit: ok i tried this myself and the settings.lnk i found takes you to manila settings so im now stumped

I deleted settings.lnk to stop it from going to the stupid manilla tab....

1. With Total Commander go to Windows\Start Menu\Programs\
2. Move settings.lnk to SD card
3. Go to :HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\HideSettings and change the default value from 1 to 0
4. Go to: HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila
5. "HomeLSKText"="Settings"
6. "HomeLSKPath"=Storage Card\Settings.lnk
7. Softreset

Going to try this and let you know what happens

Yeah, I tried that already. Actually if you find the .lnk you can just check the properties for the path, but I have nade the registry edit to turn on all settings, and deleted the one that brings you to the Manila setting tab. And when you browse into the start menu folder after doing that, there is no .lnk for seetings anymore, even though when you click start on the phone it shows up there. Very frustrating.
