anyone figure out why or the fix for not having suretype when the phone is slid out?

Hi, I am still trying to get the flashing LED shut off for incoming messages. In the notification settings window the check box and duration drop down are both grayed out and can't be set. I have tried this registry edit but ti made no difference, everything is still grayed out.

- Disable Notification - This stops the HTC notification manager running and restores the default WM functionality.- 1. Go to HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\Flags.
2. It should be 0 by default - change it to 4.

It has been mentioned on this forum that the cab located here takes care of it. I myself have not tried it.

Using PHM RegEdit or Total Commander:

HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation=0

Quick question/request:

Is there any way to change this item to another quick link item like contacts, phone, comm, etc instead of the Lock feature? I really don't like the Lock function there. I like to turn off the phone/lock it on the button on top of the phone, so I don't need Lock there.

I gotta tell ya, that's pretty wierd because I am almost positive it is supposed to be "Phone" by default. At least that's what mine has always been and it kind of seems stupid to me since it is sitting right above a hardware key that does the exact same thing. So I would like to know how you got yours to be "Lock".

I included a cab to change it to contacts since you mentioned it, but if you want to change it to something else see the examples below. You just have to know the path to the executable. I changed mine to Calculator.

Change Left or Right Softkeys

HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila

For Left Softkey (for example, setting it to All Contacts)"
"HomeLSKText"="All Contacts"
"HomeLSKPath"=Manila:/people\browserlayer\?.page

For Right Softkey (for example, setting it to Comm Manager):
"HomeRSKText"="Comm Mgr"
"HomeRSKPath"=\Windows\CommManager.exe

For anyone that is running the stock Sprint 6.5 ROM like I was and looking for a few minor tweaks to make it faster and more smooth, I would STRONGLY suggest checking out GoodThings2Life's 6.5 Cleanup Thread at:

There is a lot of valuable tweaks bundled together there that really cleanup the stock ROM and make it faster and make much more program memory available. A thread I found very helpful and wanted to share.

Hah- same here- mine has "phone" but I was thinking how it really should be "lock". When I hit the start button "lock" shows up as the left soft button
