Re: My...GOD! Phone is CONSTANTLY turning itself off at random, any help!?
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OKAY! I FOUND OUT WHY! WOOHOO! (not really excited about it though) Whenever I set it down it shuts itself off, so I think it has something to do with the battery? But...why? I checked the battery twice and just checked agian and tested it and it is secure, in place, but keeps shutting itself off. I have to do it very gently. And whenever I text and set it on the table next to me, causing it to shut off since I didnt set it down ever so gently. Well...now what?! Guess repair store. By the way, I am almost CERTAIN it shuts off every other time I send a text message. How the hell could it shut itself off after a text message?! Re: My...GOD! Phone is CONSTANTLY turning itself off at random, any help!?
Is it rebooting, or just staying shut off?
I have a VZW TP2... stock rom, winmo 6.1. Not unlocked. I only have installed a few programs (including swype) along with the "no push internet" & "SSK TP2 dynamic resource proxy" regedit cabs. I had 2 random restarts in one day (on 1/22/2010, both within 6 hrs of each other). I was [attempting to] go to m.scottrade.com both times when it happened. I think it might have something to do with this webpage, my settings, or Opera.... but I'm not sure. The problem seemed to be with the stored password information in Opera. I went into the settings and cleared this information and it seems to be working ok now. Just thought I'd share.

Re: My...GOD! Phone is CONSTANTLY turning itself off at random, any help!?
Nice to see others are having this issue as well (actually, it's not nice, but good to know I'm not crazy).
I never installed swype, but it did come cooked in with Energys ROM, but my shut off's started with MightysROM. Not blaming that ROM of course, I've come EXTREMELY close to solving my problem. Whenever I make a kind of "impact" on my phone it shuts off. I first noticed this when I found out that when I set my phone down on a table (instead of gentley setting it down) it shuts off if I kind of drop it on the table (bascially, normally setting it on the table). "Dropping" makes it sound like I'm holding it high and dropping it, lol. But also, even the slightest thing as when I slide the keyboard back in, and the spring slides it into place quickly and kind of uses that force, it makes it shut off completely. It doesn't restart on its own, like someone mentioned. I wish it did at least that. I hate finding out my phone has been shut off because I never know how long it's been off!!! I check the battery and everything, I just don't know the cause, sooo frustrating! I'm going to bring it into my Sprint Repair Store on Monday and I can definitely reproduce the problem. Just gotta re-lock the phone is all. |

yea & last 1 wasnt a refurb tp2 either. just sumtimes instead of a new phone id prefer an actual fix ... not no b.s fix either ive heard sprint store say ... hard resets/setting up new phones suck .. it got old with tp1 . . . Last edited by dumpringz; 02-27-2010 at 01:20 AM. |
