My...GOD! Phone is CONSTANTLY turning itself off at random, any help!?

My phone has been turning off at complete randomness and I have NO IDEA WHY! It's EXTREMELY frustrating! At first i thought I fixed it by going to Display settings and turning off the "Turn Device off if not used..." and it still turned off. And for the first time it shut off on my while I was ordering pizza over the phone! Any help is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you unlock your phone recently?

I had that problem. I found out that srs wow hd. was causing it. I removed that and it solved the problem. I hate doing that cause I like the way it makes my phone louder for music and overall performance. but it isn't stable on the tp2. I hope this helps if you installed that app

Nope, Never installed that app. I'm going to have to flash back to the original stock Sprint ROM and then clear wipe out the storage. Sigh... Pretty sure it doesn't wipe out my storage card, right? Hopefully. Thanks for the help! I just rreeaallllyy hope its not the phone itself.

Watch that! A friend of mines phone was doing that.. they got a bill for 2400 in calls to mexico. Their phone was hijacked! Had to change phones & their number and luckily didnt have to pay the bill.

Switched back to stock Sprint ROM and kept it on for about a day so far. It's shut off just about the same amount of times. Sigh. I guess it is the actual phone then? Damnit. How annoying!!! I always assume I got it working and then I check to see if anyone called and it had been shut off the entire time.

So re-lock the phone and bring it into a repair station?

OKAY! I FOUND OUT WHY! WOOHOO! (not really excited about it though)

Whenever I set it down it shuts itself off, so I think it has something to do with the battery? But...why? I checked the battery twice and just checked agian and tested it and it is secure, in place, but keeps shutting itself off. I have to do it very gently.

And whenever I text and set it on the table next to me, causing it to shut off since I didnt set it down ever so gently. Well...now what?! Guess repair store.

By the way, I am almost CERTAIN it shuts off every other time I send a text message. How the hell could it shut itself off after a text message?!

following this thread since mine has been doing the same exact thing as thelovatscout mines stock took it into the store and they couldnt reproduce the problem

Is it rebooting, or just staying shut off?

I have a VZW TP2... stock rom, winmo 6.1. Not unlocked.

I only have installed a few programs (including swype) along with the "no push internet" & "SSK TP2 dynamic resource proxy" regedit cabs.

I had 2 random restarts in one day (on 1/22/2010, both within 6 hrs of each other).

I was [attempting to] go to m.scottrade.com both times when it happened.
I think it might have something to do with this webpage, my settings, or Opera.... but I'm not sure.

The problem seemed to be with the stored password information in Opera. I went into the settings and cleared this information and it seems to be working ok now. Just thought I'd share.
