What do you think of Windows Phone 7?

Why are people arguing what WP7 should be named? And why is WM7 being thrown out there?

They didnt want it to be called WM7 because Microsoft stated that a phone is not a PC several times. And a pocket pc is exactly what the name windows mobile implies. Microsoft decided to go in another direction that's why they named it windows phone 7. They are differentiating between a phone and a pc. So while calling it WM7/WP7 might not be a big difference on the forums, Microsoft sees it as night and day.

I think people are getting reluctant to change, but I think all will be well once WP7 is released.

Actually, Microsoft has a ton of hardware. They have the Xbox. In addition to that they have the surface PC. They also have a tablet PC (or used to). And I actually own a Microsoft wireless router right now. There is also the fact that they own Danger now...

Um... I don't recall saying anything at all to any "WP7 people", dude, so your 'leave us alone' comment was unnecessarily confrontational. The thread is entitled "What do you think of Windows Phone 7?" and I wrote about what I think of Windows Phone 7. Don't know how you could possibly take that personally, but get the chip off your shoulder & quit trying to pick fights.

I'm sorry but I don't just blindly go along with sweeping change. I'm not a sheep. I don't like what they're doing to WinMo. I will give it a try when it comes out, but I'm not going to automatically embrace a new OS that looks like child's play crap so far just cause it's 'new & improved'. Change isn't always good, and new isn't always better.

And sorry, I wasn't aware this thread was for talking crap to people you don't agree with. I didn't ask for anyone's opinions on my views, and I'm sure nobody else here cares if you don't agree with them either.

Your entitiled to your opinion and i'm entitiled to mine. And i just so happen to think your opinion is stupid lol. You don't have enough information to make some of the claims that you have. I'm still in shock. In disbelief. They must be kidding or they are leaving out something mighty important, right?

I posted here over & over that I was die-hard WM. Never another OS. I got mad at the Sprint reps for wanting to sell me an Android, when I asked for a WM phone. Now THIS!!!! WM is not WM any more.

I want a PC in my pocket! One that I can customize & wreck to my heart's desire. I don't want a smart phone, or a tinker toy. It doesn't even have to be pretty. But I need a PC in my pocket.

With all the hype, I was expecting something awesome:
I actually expected that the future ppc would be able to carry and operate the SAME apps I have on my regular future PC. Maybe with a few options limited, but able to completely sync relevant info back & forth etc.

I feel like a husband who's wife decided to have a gender change instead of the b00b job she promised. I stuck with WM for many good & bad years and when they said something big and wonderful was around the corner, I didn't expect THIS - whatever they call it now.

I will stick with my WM6.xx until it falls apart. Then I might give WP a try, if they're still around. I will equally entertain Android & iPhone to see which one gives me the least amount of pain.
