Which connection does your HTC wifi router usually connects to? Phone as modem? or Verizon (on sprint phones its Sprint, don't know other one for verizon)...example if you connect to phone as modem and then you have something activate verizon connection it may cause that... Also try getting a data connection first via browser then connect using the wifi router.

Re: HTC WiFi Router
I am, icon is labeled wifiinternetsharing, and yep I tried the cab version. It installs fine and the icon appears without me doing a soft reset (though I have anyway in my trouble-shooting travels)

Re: HTC WiFi Router
The proper one that is working for most ppl can be found here (yes it is the black antenna blue background):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538874 Look @ post #13 on page 2 of the thread if you want the cab that installs a Program Shortcut in your start menu. I tested it out last night on my XP Netbook & it worked flawlessly. Only thing is the TP2's screen stays lit the entire time. So if you turn the screen off, the Wifi will disconnect. Back on topic: There is another thread on here today that addresses the browser connection issue. For some of you who can see & connect to this available 'wifi router' but cannot get IE browser to connect...it suggests it has to do with the caching of the 'old' settings. May want to check that out. Last edited by Q_Q; 04-08-2010 at 11:47 AM. |
