Which connection does your HTC wifi router usually connects to? Phone as modem? or Verizon (on sprint phones its Sprint, don't know other one for verizon)...example if you connect to phone as modem and then you have something activate verizon connection it may cause that... Also try getting a data connection first via browser then connect using the wifi router.

I have use the htc wifrouter program for a while now. It connects flawlessly on any windows laptop I try it with and works very well. I run a stock 6.5 Sprint ROM. Anyway, I tested an Archos 7 tablet (it has the not-so-latest version of android on it) and I can't get a connection using htc wifirouter. The A7 connects fine on my home wireless router but when trying to use htc wifirouter, the A7 "sees" the network, but says it is out of range, even if I put the two about 6 inches apart. I'm sure it has to do with the adhoc connection that the htc wifirouter puts out, but I don't see any way to reconfigure the network connection on the android A7 unit. Does anyone know anything about android and whether this can be done? Thanks much! Last edited by zagleft1; 08-11-2010 at 03:25 PM. Reason: typo |
