Brownhornet also said the iPhone is better thasn any WinMo phone, so he lost all credibility with me. Not only that, but he cited Sling Player as actually working on the iPhone, so I KNOW he doesn't know what he's talking about.

As for the droid being better than the Touch Pro 2- tell that to Consumer Reports. They rated the Touch Pro 2 as the better device for business.

And I guarantee you can't tweak your Touch Pro 2 better than me, lol. Maybe (and that's a pretty big maybe) just as good, but most definitely not better.

How is me comparing that half ass version of Android any different than you guys comparing the newest phone on the market to some older WinMo phones? LOL!

Again, the phones are faster than the WinMo phones because they have better specs. Compare the HD2 to a G1 and then tell me which one is faster.

It's no different than comparing the best spec'd brand new Android phone on the market to an old Windows Mobile phone and acting like the OS is the reason it's so much faster.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

Personally, I may just skip the HD2 and go straight to the HTC Obsession (Diamond3).
We'll see what else comes of WinMo 7 devices in the next 6 months, before I jump to anything else.

Quote:
The third phone in the Diamond series, which is also known as the HTC Obsession, is currently in development and being readied for the consumer market, according to the latest reports.
Although HTC has been very busy of late with its new Android-based smartphones, it is clear that it will not be leaving Windows Mobile behind for long, as the Obsession is reported to use the Microsoft mobile operating system.
HTC has said that it will be using a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen for the Obsession, which will be capacitive and similar to that sported by the Nexus One and the Bravo.
However, rumours suggest that full support for multitouch will come as standard, which is something the Nexus One notably lacks without a hack.
The HTC Obsession is getting a 1GHz processor and 4GB of internal storage space for the owner to use as they see fit, with a microSD memory card slot compatible with 32GB units rounding out the package.
Other technical capabilities include a video capture mode that allows for 720p HD resolution clips to be recorded using the camera, which can also take stills at a 5 megapixel resolution.
No images of the HTC Obsession have turned up in the promotional material that has been released so far, but its powerful hardware could make it one of the best Windows Mobile-based smartphones on the market when it arrives. Let us hope that it comes with version 6.6 with its touch friendly overhaul.

According to the latest Windows Mobile 7 findings by WMExperts, HTC Obsession could very well be the first Windows phone which will ship with Windows Mobile 7 come this fall. Microsoft may even show it off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, where they are highly expected to unveil Windows Mobile 7 for the very first time.

Haven't been following along lately so I apologize if I repeat something, but I would agree with you about people comparing newer androids to WM for speed. The one thing that Android and iPhone currently have over WM is developer support. Even if WM7 is amazing it's still gonna take a while to winback developers. This is the primary reason I am looking to Android for my next phone, but I'm anxiously awaiting MWC in the next two weeks to see what's in store for the coming months.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

brownhornet iphone isn't better, yeah it has some features that make it more user friendly but it lacks too much to compete with droid and tp2 on professional level.

Check this out:
http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=12754&utm_...ontent=Twitter

WinMo is actually gaining market share since the release of the HD2 (and even since the release of the Touch Pro 2).

Yes, of course there will be a lot of people happy with their Android devices. And then some new WinMo device will come out with better specs and lots of people will buy it. And then some Andoid device will come out with better specs and people will buy it. And the cysle will continue.

I think it's less about the OS and more about the phone itself. At this point either OS gets the job done. WinMo 7 will be an improvement, but it won't make or break anything. The hardware has to be top notch for anyone to even care about the OS.
