Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Personally, I may just skip the HD2 and go straight to the HTC Obsession (Diamond3).
We'll see what else comes of WinMo 7 devices in the next 6 months, before I jump to anything else.
Quote:
The third phone in the Diamond series, which is also known as the HTC Obsession, is currently in development and being readied for the consumer market, according to the latest reports.
Although HTC has been very busy of late with its new Android-based smartphones, it is clear that it will not be leaving Windows Mobile behind for long, as the Obsession is reported to use the Microsoft mobile operating system.
HTC has said that it will be using a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen for the Obsession, which will be capacitive and similar to that sported by the Nexus One and the Bravo.
However, rumours suggest that full support for multitouch will come as standard, which is something the Nexus One notably lacks without a hack.
The HTC Obsession is getting a 1GHz processor and 4GB of internal storage space for the owner to use as they see fit, with a microSD memory card slot compatible with 32GB units rounding out the package.
Other technical capabilities include a video capture mode that allows for 720p HD resolution clips to be recorded using the camera, which can also take stills at a 5 megapixel resolution.
No images of the HTC Obsession have turned up in the promotional material that has been released so far, but its powerful hardware could make it one of the best Windows Mobile-based smartphones on the market when it arrives. Let us hope that it comes with version 6.6 with its touch friendly overhaul.

According to the latest Windows Mobile 7 findings by WMExperts, HTC Obsession could very well be the first Windows phone which will ship with Windows Mobile 7 come this fall. Microsoft may even show it off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, where they are highly expected to unveil Windows Mobile 7 for the very first time.
