Uh, Mobile Shell was released about 3 years BEFORE Android, so I don't think it wants to be Android, lol. And I don't know if you have used Mobile Shell, but it is totally integrated into the phone. And it has facebook and twitter integration too (it even downloads facebook pictures for your contacts' photos).

Mobile Shell is the real deal. Before you go hating on it, I suggest you try it out.

The fourth quarter is typically strong for smartphone makers, but the growth rate of iPhone shipments fell below the market as a whole. While the market grew 26% quarter-over-quarter, Apple sold 18% more iPhones, or a total of 8.7 million, which the company said was the most it has ever sold.

Microsoft's mobile market share continues to drop year-on-year, according to data released by Gartner. Smartphone sales were up to 41.0 million in 2Q09, a 27 percent increase over 2Q08's 32.3 million. Windows Mobile, however, only managed to grab 3.81 million of those units in 2Q09, or about 9.3 percent. The number of units wasn't much of a drop from 2Q08, where they booked 3.87 million sales. But the segment was smaller then, and that was was good enough for 12 percent of the market in 2Q08; given the growth of smartphone sales, the drop has to be very disappointing.

In short, smartphones are selling well, despite an overall decline in mobile phone sales, but Windows Mobile smartphones are following the trend of the recession.

Even with the SLIGHT marketshare drop of the iphone and the MEAGER gain of winmo(after it lost marketshare for THREE straight quarters), the iphone is STILL ahead of winmo with ONE phone on ONE carrier. Just like you think some windows live ranking will improve winmo, what do you think will happen to the iphone sales when VERIZON gets it if it already outsold it on one carrier? Stop doing this to yourself dude. I dont hate the tp2, I just think winmo sucks compared to other phones out right now.

Stop doing what to myself- pointing out that you are full of it? All I did was point out that Windows Mobile is gaining market share RIGHT NOW while the iPhone is losing it RIGHT NOW. Nobody cares about what happened almost a year ago. RIGHT NOW WinMo is gaining, while the iPhone is losing.

And this is while everyone already knows a newer and better version of WinMo is due out later this year. Look for it to really take off when WinMo 7 is released.

i'm not even going to explain what winmo is missing open your eyes, its like you're the only one who doesn't realize winmo is doing a major overhaul, there is a reason. this is what you're doing, you're saying your ps2 can play dvds and ps2 games and since it can do that its almost as good as a ps3 slim because a ps3 slim isn't backwards compatible. Just because some features winmo can do the same EVERYTHING (I don't know how else to explain everything) else is better on android. android is a next gen os just like the xbox 360 and ps3 are next gen consoles. you're living in a box and one day you will finally open your eyes. Nexus one is a next generation machine man. Verizon users are lucky they are getting it, the only thing is it will probably be a little thicker.

I saw that HD2 running Mobile Shell. All you could say about it is it's trying to be Android (even though it's older than Android) and it isn't integrated into the phone (even though it IS integrated into the phone).

Is there something I am missing here? LOL! What features does the Nexus One have over the HD2 running Mobile Shell?

there is no use going back and forth with you. the only thing i'm going to say is that we are all PRAYING winmo 7 is the truth and there is a reason for that, and nobody is worried at all about any future updates for android, of course they are working on future updates but like android 3.0 but those aren't necessity right now, winmo 7 is a neccessity if winmo wants to advance in the phone game. and yes you are missing ALOT, mobile shell is only a shell on winmo, its not changing the whole operating system.

Mark my words, if Verizon had an HD2 running Mobile Shell and marketed it the way they do the droid, and it had a keyboard, it would sell just as much if not more than the droid. The droid Eris isn't selling so well on Verizon, so there is obviously more to this than everyone just wanting Android. Heck, Verizon is having trouble giving the Droid Eris away.

You say Mobile Shell is only a shell on Winmo and not the whole OS- give me an example of what the heck that even means. I'm pretty sure you haven't even used Mobile Shell at this point. All I can tell you is install it and then tell me what it's lacking. It IS integrated in the OS. It is the entire user interface. you act like i havent tried mobile shell, i have tried everything possible for the tp2. I build my own roms, i cook in reg edits with sashimi, i've mastered titanium sense 2.1 and 2.5, somebody just figured out how to have menu enhancements on the titanium without sense installed and pocketnow just wrote a report about it, i've been doing that for months, there is nothing i haven't tried on the tp2 and by the way youre talking i can tell you've never played with an adroid significantly, especially the nexus. Like i said before all you're getting out of the hd2 that we don't already have is speed with the snapdragon processor. the android os is a whole different experience. the easiest way to explain whats missing with winmo is going to be the difference between winmo 6 and 7. You're going to be all excited about how everything works better and easier when you finally get winmo 7 and i'm going to be like thats old i've been doing that for almost a year on my nexus.

I have not played with a Nexus One. I have played with a G1 extensively. 2 of my best friends own g1's, and have had them since launch. Either one of them would trade me for my Touch Pro 2 in a heartbeat.

I am still waiting for even 1 single example of what an HD2 running Mobile Shell is lacking.

When Winmo 7 comes out, it will be on faster hardware. That's the big excitement right now. Oh yeah, and it will play games on xbox live and have a zune player that you can subscribe to the monthly service.

You can't do any of that on your Nexus One. Please give me an example of even 1 thing that you will have been doing for a year that I can't do on an HD2 with mobile shell. I keep asking and the more you refuse to give me an example the more I think there aren't any.
