Every call on my line could be $ in my pocket and to miss a call because of my service provider, I would be kicking my own ass for going with tmobile.
i can agree with that statement........

While the logic is sound, in execution it's not so rosy. Data roaming limits you to 1x, even when evdo is available, and sprint forces their customers on the sprint network, even when the coverage from verizon is ten times better, and sprints coverage is unreliable.
you are correct but from what i've noticed is the places where sprint doesn't get good service and i have to roam on the verizon network, in those areas verizon isn't receiving a evdo rev a signal, they are just the strongest 1x provider which means the data speeds are still the same. this is most of the time not always.

Roaming is free but limited on Sprint...

roaming is free on sprint but only to 50% of your calls. if 50% of my calls i had to roam to make a call, I would switch providers.

A software update. Most of their infrastructure will support both standards. Overnight software update.

On your other opinion, on releasing the statement to appease stock holders. Your timing was off, so yes I disagree. They released it well ahead of any Sprint quarter performance results.

Here are the facts. WiMax is a 4G technology here today, it's not a standard in the works (LTE). They can roll out a 4G network that supports WiMax, that will build revenue for them years ahead of any competitor. If the market calls for them to switch to LTE, they can support it, and have a network that has been out there for 2 years, positioning them well ahead of competitors.
The timing was NOT off on that statement. I said they released it ahead of quarterly earnings because they didn;t want the investors (which are already calling for Hesse's head, mind you) rioting. You pointed out that they released it this quarter. So? This quarter was one of, if not thee, worst quarters in Sprint history. So the timing was right on target according to what I posted.

Now, as for the BS line that it's a simple software switch that ONLY they can do and nobody else in the world can- you really believe that? Since you're so knowledgable on this subject (as you claimed) then please explain to me why THEY can do it with a simple software switch but anyone else would have to replace all the hardware on their network? That claim is so utterly ridiculous it's laughable that anyone would even pretend to believe it.

If they can do it, then probably everyone else can too. And if nobody else in the entire world can do it, than they probably can't either.

And, again, it's hillarious that they would make this ridiculous claim during the worst stretch in Sprint's history- while investors are calling for the heads of all the executives, specifically for going with Wimax instead of LTE.

Go to yahoo, google, MSN, or any brokerage website and read the message boards there. See what investors have been saying about Sprint for months (and I am a shareholder, I have already been there so I know what you're going to find).

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

we have two seperate issues. sprints financial situation has nothing to do with how well their service works or if they will be able to roll from wimax to lte without a hitch. we all know winmo is better in our eyes and wimo is struggling with financial sales compared to the iphone, but the hd2 is still better then the iphone.
